I think it only fair for Waka to broadcast the date he is going for all our sakes
Having experienced Waka first hand I wonder if it is like an inoculation and the effect wears off or is that wishful thinking,

Cheers Nigel

If your going to get personal I'll go Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

I'll have to check the day with the famous Philly.

Cheers Waka.
Thats just raised the percentage to around 95%. Now just ave to work out what money to take, plastic or cash?

I went last year and got a great deal on a SIP planer thicknesser. They were also selling a lot of tools heavily discounted - I bought a cordless nail gun for £20 which was a bargain!! Some other stands had some good deals too but I agree with what others have said - you need to do a bit of research beforehand in terms of WHAT you're looking to buy and HOW MUCH you can buy it for!

There are also demonstrations there which will benefit people new / learning in woodworking. I had never done any turning and was fascinated watching someone turn a massive vase - it was inspiring!!

In short, I'd recommend the show to anyone with more than a passing interest in woodworking.

See you all there... :)

Gary

The turning demos are always fascinating, even to someone like me who doesn't do it! Also I expect Ron Fox will be there splitting the atom with his router collection and John Pivey will be french polishing something.

Is Ally Pally geared up for 3days of Waka
If you pick the right day I could buy you a tea or something stronger

Cheers Nigel,

Cheers Nigel,

That does sound tempting. Hey Philly when we going?

I can only speak for myself here, but I'd have thought Saturday was the best day? Doesn't involve taking a day off work and hopefully there is still some stock left to buy! :)

When I collected my Planer Thicknesser on the Sunday afternoon (although I 'bought' it on the Sat I couldn't collect it until the Sunday) the show was looking quite bare!!

Yes, the last day can look very bare. One year however, I got lucky as a DW rep gave me a few things (accessories not power tools) rather than pack them up again!

I'm happy to go the most suitable day - be great to meet up with the team again!
Philly :D

hi there, can any of you guys tell me how much addmission is to the show ??? thank you, Jemmy.

I've been a few times before, including last year.

Last year was pretty dissapointing, a fair bit of empty space in the hall, noticeably fewer stands and a lot of space taken with the cheap tat type stalls.

Worth going to meet some mates or possibly to see the demo's, but a bit expensive on time and fuel to get there for me and there's the entrance price on top, so probably won't bother this year, the exhibitors list looks even smaller this time !

Not a patch on the D&M show at Kempton Park which is free to boot !

Cheers, Paul. :D

Good afternoon all

I will be doing my damnest to appear on the Saturday so if anyone is planning on going then let me know, would be nice to say hello.

Also, I have a couple of grand burning a hole in my pocket and unless the deals/stock on show are rubbish will be buying a P/T and Bandsaw, so maybe I can help distract Waka's attention from the rest of you

Cheers

Mark
