Ed.? Tongue partly in cheek, yes, but with serious intent. I was trying to make the point that good work is not a direct consequence of expensive purchases; it is a consequence of concentration and forethought. My wee gadget has limitations, but I try to use it constructively and the strong 'mean steak' genes I inherited from my Scottish-background Grandmother crow lustily when I pull off a good job by dint of intellect/cunning rather then spondulicks. So, I tend to baulk a bit at an immediate rush to recommend Lamello, Lie Nielson, Lee Valley and I thought the OP should have at least one alternative reply to mull over.
Secondly, were I to be someone earning their daily bread by thousands of biscuit insertions per year, I'd go for a Lamello for longevity and dependance every time. I would also appreciate the speed with which I could rattle off a job, as the machine was built to streamline a 'pro's' work path and build up his pay packet.
Hypocracy? No, just horses for courses. I do not have enough disposable income to rise to a fine bit of kit and I do not have to depend on same for income. Were I to to go professional, my priorities would change, period.
Happy New Year to everyone here. I've lurked and gawped quite a bit over the last thirty-six months and the spirit and warmth of (most) posters has helped cheer me up through a very rocky period of ill-health. To all of you, Philly, Digit, Ed. (Especially Ed. ), Benchwayse, Tony, Mailee, OPJ, Rich - and all the others I can't remember - for 2009:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
(traditional gaelic blessing).
