but I was recently given a small offset satellite dish, only 2.6 metres wide

2.6 metres, that's nearly 9 feet in old money! What size do you call a big one?

LOL, yes I know it sounds on the large side but in the days before the tiny dishes of now and slim compact receivers, when monsters filled the sea and **** were 2p a packet....well maybe not as far back as that...but dishes were once a lot bigger just to receive a few little channels here and there. I started my addiction to satellite tv by building a timber frame 18 feet by 8 feet, covering it with mesh and working out what angle to mount the LNB at  :D

Andy,

Tnaks for that. I did see that unit when I was broadening my search after your initial suggestion but after a lot of digging about, I finally plumped for the Bug as you suggested. It does everything I want - just looks a little fragile and ugly!

I like the idea of it taking memory cards. I can burn CDs but would just as soon not bother.
