Hi Mike, according to brewers dictionary of phrase and fable, it originated from the Second world war and was frequently used by the lower ranks when a command from on high went against all sensible thinking.

No doubt all you internet savvy lot will know the meaning of LOL . I've seen it used a lot recently on our forum. Just Googled it - Laughing out Loud!

When i first came across this one i thought it meant ` Lots of love ` and thought `what nice people these folk are`. :?

Thers an old joke regarding a chap flying the Atlantic on a TWA flight.The rather attractive stewardess asks him if he would like some TWA coffee to which he replies. `I wouldn`t mind some of your TWA tea`.
