I mentioned a while back that I had found a very out of the way woodyard that had a lot of american black walnut.
well I went back today to find something else and was very surprised to find their "exotic" corner.
What i found was large pallets of walnut, iroku cherry, meranti, red oak, and one I have never heard of before, Gombe.
All of them in varying thicknesses up to 5cm.
I got a 2.5 metre plank of cherry 18 cm x 2.5 cm for 27 euro.
Not bad considering he had to get the giant fork lift out and shift 4 pallets before he could get to the cherry.
He's my new "go to guy"
Never used cherry before, I think I'm going to like it. Nice wood, no obvious marks or splits.
