Ok, so it's not my birthday until Saturday, but just received my pressie from SWMBO & the kids

Brand new, in box, £68 from e-bay! :D

I sold my LN 212 to Seanybaby a couple of months back, and ever since i've regretted not having a scraper of a similair size to work larger pieces with. So you can imagine my glee when SWMBO told me she had found a Veritas plane on e-bay, and was it something i'd be interested in. The plane was listed with a Buy It Now price of £60 (with £8 p&p).

Cheers

Very nice. 8)

I've had one for almost a year now. I can only appreciate the build quality though, as I've never quite gotten to grips with setting up and using it... When I can get it to work, it seems to make this horrible screeching noise as it cuts - surely, that's not right? :?

It's a cracking scraper plane, Karl - you'll really enjoy using it. A little more difficult to set up than the #80 but once you get it, it's easy and repeatable. I think Rob Lee posted something on here a while ago about setting them up in response to a query - but I'm no good with the search engine on here......

Cheers

Dang - I hadn't realised that there were (helpful) photos in that thread, and that they're missing.
