I bought earlier this year T track and bolts from Rockler and am now trying to find 5/16" threaded insets for wood. I can get the metric version but no imperial. Are there sources in the Uk??
Thanks
Barry

Not sure what your on about but if you need a bolt try a car place , they still do old style bolts and nuts .

I think you're probably out of luck, Barry. I looked at all my bookmarks of suppliers of oddities of this kind and came up with a big fat zero. Best I could think of was using a Helicoil, which I did find in that size. Do they work in wood?

Cheers, Alf

Machine scews and bolts hold very firmly in hardwood. Buy a couple of cheap taps of the right size and gently tap a hole for the bolts. As long as you don't need to be constantly taking them out and putting them back, bolts will hold very strongly.

Isaac Lord do pronged base T nuts in 5/16 if you can get to the back of the piece of wood. Only problem is they are 5/16 BSW and I suspect your bolts are UNC or UNF.
