I've got the Record 405 equivalent, but they are identical. I'd say that it can be ok for a housing or rebate across the grain, if you are working in some nicely behaved hardwood, but even then it seems difficult to get the spurs correctly sharpened and set to cut just deep enough. I think most users soon give up on them and use a knife or saw to sever the fibres first.
Beading etc across the grain - I wouldn't bother - rethink the design!
