3 weeks with a lathe...

I am hoping to get a lathe later this year, but a friend’s need to rebuild his shed meant looking after his lathe for the last three weeks...
just been playing, practising, learning...
a few things I have made...

some small figures for games:

A light pull:

A croquet peg:

A new finial for an outbuilding:

bowls:
olive ash:

spalted beech no 1:

spalted beech no 2:

spalted sycamore:

yew:

loving this but/ still lots to learn!

Damn you man!!!! I FINALLY got my old Avon 17-37 assembled this weekend, and expected great things - so when I managed to turn something similar, (But nowhere near as good as) your finial I was delighted - but now I can see I'm not so clever after all....
I must sharpen my chisels an dtry again....

Great first jobs BTW.

Thats pretty good for starting out and as you have noticed the more you do the better it gets.

Nice work, especially like yew bowl.
I have a record power coronet herald, and I do rate it, it’s a good all rounder imho, and the support / advise from record power is excellent.
