Thanks for the info, yes my next project may be some back yard forging!I use them occasionally. I believe there french but I got them from **** tools. Alternatively there not to testing to make and are of course the real thing. The real homemade ones are simply superb being rough and very grippy.
Thanks Niall ...?will look into finding a nail header ...whatever that isThere are lots of suppliers on the internet. Most you will find are machine made - they have to be to keep the price reasonable. It can be quite noticeable that the heads are all identical , especially if you have them grouped together. If this is something that irks you then you can easily reshape the heads using a nail header.
Thanks for thisThese guys might be no good because they’re in France, http://www.clous.eu/, but I buy nails from them frequently.
Ah, found an English version of their site that suggests they might deliver outside France https://www.nail.eu.com/en/home/.
As recommended by Chris Schwarz https://blog.lostartpress.com/2023/01/09/an-update-on-rivierre-nails/.
I mostly buy copper nails from them that we use when repairing masonry, but I’ve also bought their rose head nails, which are very nice indeed.
