That would be 'awkward' to work around without adding some 'extra bits'
Probably the best option would be ignoring the hoovers auto option and adding a belt or machine mounted remote control unit to switch the hoover on and off (as many do with shop extractor systems) or just do it manually- anything else would be complicated....
('some' circuits can have their sensitivity reduced- but it literally means removing the electronics PCB from the hoover, reverse engineering the PCB and unsoldering components and replacing them with different value ones- not a job for the fainthearted lol)
