    Kitchen door repair

Here are a few of the Inserts and the corresponding screws that go with them.... Looking at your picture, the damage isn't too bad at all.....Ive seen far worse!....I would suggest cleaning away any loose bits or broken chipboard and fill the holes with 2 part wood filler. Once hard, clean...

    Kitchen door repair

I have a few spares of those plastic inserts, as they are often used on German kitchens. I'm just about to go to my workshop, so I'll dig a few out for you. When I get back, I'll also suggest a way of repairing the damaged carcass holes so that you can use the new inserts.....👍

How to make cabinets like this?

If you zoom in @Shavingsnotdust , you can see the extractor mounted within the cabinet above the Hob......It does appear to be rather low and close to the Hob surface though...!??

Yes,...Once the sheet is adjacent to where you want it, you just slide it across onto either a panel saw or onto a workbench.

Advice on Jet Washed Timber Cladding

I'm not sure if the same principle will apply in your situation, but a roofing specialist I know told me many years ago, if you want to quickly age new roof tiles to match the age & look of modern replacements, rub cow manure on the new ones and within a month or two, they will look practically...

    Lathe Related?

Components 2,3,4,7 & 8 all look very similar to parts of the old RP3000 chuck system kit.....I purchased one of these from a member on here a number of years ago but couldn't get on with it and very shortly afterwards, bought a normal 4 jaw scroll chuck......I've still got the RP3000 chuck...

Anyone using a Numatic vacuum for dust extraction

I have an NVD 750 on a wheel kit for general clean up and vacuuming in my "work" workshop......It does the job well enough, but it is b l o o d y noisy when I compare it with my Festool dust extractors. I also have a Numatic " Charles"( Wet & Dry version) which lives in my van and is used for...

    Kitchen Cooker Splashback

"Splashback" covers a multitude of materials......What did you have in mind?....Glass?...Alluminium?.....Quartz?......Stainless Steel? Also, if the Hob is gas, this also reduces your options.

    Fitting under counter wine chiller?

I have indeed Doug, quite a few over the years...! The last one I did about 6 weeks ago, I fitted it into a 610mm gap. It was also going into an island, so I made the opposing cabinet ( a drawer unit) on the other side of the Island also 610mm wide. Technically, as you've already worked out...

    Fly tying vice base.

I was up in Northumberland for a weeks holiday back in Sept 2023. My mate and I booked a days fishing on a beat on the Upper Tyne. When we turned up and met with the "Ghillie", he said all the flies we had with us were not suitable for catching there.....He then promptly sold us the "correct"...

Countertop cutout fail and how to correct it?

I've also fitted hundreds of kitchens professionally and would choose a tracksaw & rail every time over a jigsaw.....jigsaw to final cut into the corners only. The tracksaw is far quicker, more accurate and virtually no sawdust when connected to a dust extractor. Plunge cutting without a...

    Festool Saw Stop Table saw

Was it the TKS 80 saw that you were looking at...? If so, I believe you can buy what Festool call a "Stopper" as an accessory......Here's a link to the item on their website. https://www.festool.co.uk/accessory/sawing/underframes-and-work-benches/stops-and-attachments/575826---la-tks-80#Overview

    Advice needed

I think that gold top cover threads on to the chrome knob......I seem to remember fitting a brand new pair of similar taps back in the early 90's..... Known as "Mixage" colour. Try gripping the chrome knob firmly and twist the gold top in the opposite direction....🤔

Kitchen making and extraction hood height

I wasnt criticising Mike, it was just an observation 👍 I know the better quality hood is noisier but at 3 times the efficiency, surely it is worth tolerating for a shorter period of time....?

Kitchen making and extraction hood height

That hood only moves a maximum of 290 cu mtrs/ hour and has a noise level of 58 Db. An equivalent model from a better quality manufacturer would move nearly 3 times as much air/ fumes at a noise level of 68 Db. Admittedly, you will pay more money for the more efficient hood, but surely the...
