Warning Warning ( Cheap glue )

I like the III - and it matches the Walnut I'm working with at the moment to some degree. But two things persuade me to buy Titebond - grab and easy sanding (not sure how much that varies across the range but good with the III). I was applying some lipping yesterday - 1/4" thick - having been...

Warning Warning ( Cheap glue )

I took advantage of the same offer - getting through half a litre in less than a week making the shop furniture! But when it arrived I was a little shocked at just how much a gallon of glue actually is!!! Cheers Gidon

    Spraying lacquer?

Thanks Philly - keep missing posts. Yes it is waterbased so should have used water first as you suggest. The confusion was in the fact that cellulose thinners its solvent - for use when the lacquer dries. Cheers Gidon

    Locks for glass display cabinets?

Roger Thanks I hadn't spotted the drilless ones  - I did look at the emorland link earlier and phoned them but didn't get through - will try and again tomorrow. I haven't got the Ikea cabinets yet and it's a right trek to get them so would like to confirm these things will work! Cheers Gidon

    Locks for glass display cabinets?

Darn! I thought there might be some way of mounting without a hole but it seems not. Thought the price was too good to be true! Replacement door is an option but would need two or three and may just look for the real thing. Thanks a lot for the replies ... Cheers Gidon

    Locks for glass display cabinets?

I was looking at these display cabinets for my shop: Does anyone know if it's possible to add locks to a cabinet like this easily? If so from where? Many thanks Gidon

New shop table - first one finished!!

Thanks Chems! Yes had a chat with Terry - think the slightly rough texture is from dust / dry lacquer landing on the piece so will give a light sand as you suggest. Cheers Gidon

    Spraying lacquer?

Thanks Yetloh - interesting - was reading about this last night - I'll check with Chestnut if I get a chance. It turns out that celluose thinners should be ok to use to clean the gun so I don't know why the finish all conjealed? Does anyone know? Apparently although water is the thinner for the...

Some more WIP pics: Descriptions on Flickr ... Going to give spraying a go - 1st go with back and Chestnut acrylic lacquer: Do you need to sand between coats if sprayed? Cheers Gidon

    Spraying lacquer?

Arghh - messed up - sprayed some sanding sealer, emptied out remaining sanding sealer and then tried spraying some celluose thinners through before adding the acrylic lacquer. The sanding sealer all conjealed and made a right mess of the gun - I should have just run water through I guess doh! I...

    Spraying lacquer?

If I'm spraying Chestnut acrylic lacquer - it suggests sanding sealer first which I have some of too. Can I fill the gun with sanding sealer, then run it dry and add acrylic lacquer - or do I need to clean the gun out in between? Or do I just build up layers of the acrylic lacquer on the bare...

New shop table - first one finished!!

Thanks Matty. Do have spraying equipment but so long since I used it and even then barely knew what I was doing with it! Still possible speed is tempting ... Osmo - will look into that never used it. Anyone know the shelf life once open of Titebond III - have run out of the new bottle and a have...

Do You Have Air Filtration? Which One?

I have the Microclene 400 - seems to do the job but like Paul I find it a bit too noisy and therefore don't like having it on when I'm working. Cheers Gidon
