    Saw fence

Tony posted thisa while ago. It does involve some welding/brazing and general metalworking skills, but it certainly looks do-able. There are also other diy versions out there in web land.

    New Design Bessey K

The best price I can find for the K30 is £24.95, from Tooled-Up.com. They also claim that price is discounted from £37.81, though I've never seen the K30 offered at that price.

Dust extraction/ vacuum - what to choose!

I have a cheap shop vac from Wickes (£30 I think) teamed with a Triton Dustbucket. Not very portable but it works well with my homemade router table and Triton Workcentre as well as hand-held CS and router. Certainly a lot cheaper than Festool and very effective.

    Compressors, nailers. A round up

You are spot on with the ring shank nails, the ridges are there to improve grip. For 4x2 framing you need a ...wait for it...framing nailer. These will handle nails up to about 90 mm and I think 13g. Some will fire full round head nails and some work with clipped head or "D" head nails. 18g...

    Compressors, nailers. A round up

I've found a swivelling male PCL connector on my nailer to be well worth fitting. It helps a lot when trying to get into tricky corners. BTW Annular nails = ring shank nails.

    Dangerous Blade Offer!

A negative rake blade will tend to push the workpiece down onto the table of a mitre saw (sliding or otherwise) during the cut and conversely will try to lift the workpiece off the table on a table saw. Having said that, I have heard that negative rake blades are sometimes used in a table saw to...

Commission clock ~ truth or myth?

Tony, thismight help. Apparently it is a social taboo because the words "give clock" are pronounced the same way as "attend father's funeral". So your client may have to offer to sell the clock to the intended recipient for a nominal sum. Isn't the world a strange and wonderful place?

Replacing bottom housing on Freud router

It is probably easier to buy one of these pin spanners, either the adjustable type (probably the most versatile and useful for future jobs) or afixed size one.

Sliding Compound Mitre saw. Query its footprint.

How about keeping the Triton and getting a regular CMS (non-slider), which takes up much less room. That way you have the convenience of the chop saw for the 99% of the mitre/bevel cuts you need to make and the Triton in crosscut mode for the odd occasion that you need bigger capacity. You also...

    Paint waste

I don't see a problem with disposing of relatively low toxicity water-based paints absorbed in sawdust, though if you are producing large volumes of it the council might object.

    Paint waste

Thissite suggests using cat litter or sawdust to absorb waste water-based paint, letting it dry out and disposing of it with your household rubbish (presumably to landfill). Maybe a good use for the bags of sawdust we all seem to produce.

Big triton router still for sale at Bilston B&Q

Tritontoolshave the TRB001 for £185 with free delivery in 2-3 days and you would get a warranty. Some of the Ebay "bargains" charge high postage/shipping costs and I'm not sure about making a warranty claim later. I have no connection with Triton tools, just a satisfied customer.

    Framesaw blades

I have a cheap Irwin bowsaw (metal frame) and when I replaced the blade I couldn't get high enough tension so I decided to drill another hole in the blade. I quickly found out that you need either a cobalt drill bit, as suggested, or you need to anneal the steel and drill it with a regular drill...

    Framesaw blades

Jim Swingley uses a 1/2", 6 tpi bandsaw blade for his framesaw. The good thing about using a bandsaw blade is that you could probably get several blades for your frame saw out of it.

    clamps/straightedge

I have the 915 mm one and it works very well...clamps without slipping and gives a good straight edge guide for the circular saw or router. It also functions as a light weight clamp, router table fence bandsaw fence etc. etc. The 3 pack offer looks like good value to me.

    TRITON TGA001 TEMPLATE GUIDE KIT

Funnily enough the Australians use the metric system almost exclusively. Road signs are in km and weights and measures are in grams and litres. My Triton WC2000 has metric scales too so it seems strange that they would go with imperial sizes for the guide bushes on what is probably their most...
