    Excessive packaging or useless junk?

I am a hobby woodworker and my tools stay in the workshop so for me the cases are a waste of space and money. However, I imagine that if I was a pro taking my tools from site to site they would be useful. Regards the Festool systainers, I have some Festool tools which I purchased without the...

Do I have a problem with my Triton

I have had a similar problem with a big Triton router in a table, but not as bad as yours. With mine, when I used the micro adjuster the router would at first stick where it was and then after a couple of turns jump up or down. I found that when I fixed it to the router table the router base was...

    Hello/Triton opinions

I had a Triton WS2000 fitted with the big Triton saw for a few years and was very happy with it. The only down side is bevel cutting, you can't tilt the saw you need to buy the bevel ripping guide. Due to moving to a smaller workshop all my Triton kit has now gone except for the saw, which I am...

    Festool C12

Full marks to Steve Maskery. I am a hobbyist so don't need professional quality tools however the fact that I work wood as a hobby means I do it for pleasure. A large proportion of that pleasure for me is found in using tools that perform their job faultlessly, are accurate but also have that...

    Erbauer and worx

About 18 Months ago on an impulse I bought a Worx cordless jigsaw from Homebase, on special offer at £30 (half price, other than £30 what could I loose). I have not used it very much, even with good quality blades it has a tendency to jump up uncontrollably when cutting anything thicker than...

    Triton Drill (Update)

Yes, finding someone who has them in stock is a problem, I tried it out at an exhibition but did not play with the torque collar. Again, don't think you will be disappointed, if you go ahead please update this post with your thoughts once you have it. Martin.

    Triton Drill (Update)

I don't think you will be disappointed. I suggest, if you can, check the weight (with the battery fitted) and also how easy it is to turn the torque collar before you buy. If you do go ahead and purchase I would be interested to hear if the torque collar on yours is stiff. Martin.

    Triton Drill (Update)

I have had the Triton drill for about a year now. I have found it to be very capable, it does everything Triton say it does. It is very powerful with good battery life, the chuck and shaft lock are particularly good and make it easy to use. Strangely, I have not used the plunge mechanism or...

    British Woodworking No.3

Les, Yes your comment makes perfect sense and you are correct. Anyone reading an article with the cost included would have to realise that one year, two years on etc. the costs will have changed. However, I don't think that is a reason not to include costs, only a factor to take into account...

    British Woodworking No.3

Adam, All your points are very valid. Of course there are many variables involved in the process of obtaining the timber for a project which you have listed in your post. What I am suggesting is, if it is possible, can the author of the article give the reader an idea of the cost of the timber...

    British Woodworking No.3

Some interesting discussions, but can I return to the original thread about the magazine. Including British Woodworking I read three monthly woodworking magazines and am often tempted into building one of the featured projects, or something very much like them. However as a hobby/weekend/doing...

    Joined the Festool Club

Piers, If you are thinking about buying a table saw in the future can I suggest you first have a look at the Festool Compact Modular System (CMS) which will accept the TS55 Saw. I have the CMS with the TS75 and it rips and crosscuts (withing its size limitations) exceptionally well. It has a...
