    Dual Action Sanders

Interesting comment Andy - I find that they seem to wear much faster than say the bosch discs that Axminster used to stock. I certainly find that the edges collapse much more quickly if they touch anything when spinning. I wonder if its my technique? Do you mount them straight on to the...

    Glue for rear view mirror

My rear view mirror has come off in my freelander. Its a windscreen mounted one. Can anyone recommend the right type of adhesive to put it back? Cheers Tim

    Acrylic Eggshell

I use an ordinary roller (short pile); I find that the foam rollers put tiny bubbles in the paint and frankly put so little paint down as to be ineffective for eggshell. I rub down the primer with an abrasive pad - generally 360. My spray set up is a Fuji HVLP and you are right that the...

    Dual Action Sanders

I'm surprised that the Metabo Duo hasn't made your list. Highly recommended. Having looked it up at Axminster, I can see why it might be missing - its not under dual action sanders!! When Oh when will they sort out their bloody search engine ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)...

    Acrylic Eggshell

Everything I have painted over the last two years has been with Acrylic Eggshell. No problems at all. Sometimes sprayed for complex mouldings but mostly using a roller. I don't think you'll need to extend the working time. I used Floetrol on this job and it was my first time using it...

    Small cable outlets

Not really  Thats the problem - its for some wider stereo fittings that aren't demountable and the holes will show. Thanks for the link - typically, I wanted them in white or paintable Cheers Tim

    Small cable outlets

I'm after some small (less than 60mm dia) cable outlets for a couple of bits of built in furniture. Trouble is I can't find a source. Anyone know of any? Cheers Tim

Burning Saw Dust in a Wood Stove

I have found that it very much depends on what wood is used. Walnut and oak shavings don't flare up much at all but soft wood does. Maybe not very pc but MDF seems to burn the hottest. You can certainly get a very impressive flare up if pouring on MDF dust or anything from a sander. DAMHIKT...

    Idigbo and "special" primer

I tried the Aluminium primer on Idigbo on our conservatory cill - even that lifted (after cleaning with meths etc etc) so in the end we used Superdec stain which I have to say is fab. Cheers Tim

    Idigbo and "special" primer

Its pretty difficult stuff to paint IME - so it may be just extra grippy primer. Crown do a good one. Cheers Tim

    Bespoke bedroom furniture

Just out of interest - what would you say your budget was? This thread may be of interest: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ... hp?t=19854 Are you after these built in or freestanding? Also you may get more of a detailed response if you show a couple of pics of things you like the...

What router bit sets NOT to buy?

Toby Rutlands have a sale on at the mo on router bits. I don't find them too bad at all esp for low use. For more common, heavily used bits its worth spending some money for quality. Wealden would be my choice for these. Cheers Tim

    Adobe Acrobat - alternatives?

Yep - thats what i'll do - its dull though 'cos there is lots of repetition across the forms which would have been a cinch to c&p. Some great info to fill in - when was your engagement party; if your relatives weren't there, why not etc etc. Cheers Tim

    Notaries Public

I just had a reply from the lawyers in Canada who say that a Uk notarised document should be fine. I imagine its partly to do with Commonwelath stuff? Thanks for the thoughts though - the High Commission is in London so a fair trek from me and would definitely offset any cost saving. Cheers Tim
