Anyone got one/used one - are they worth bothering with?

I'm thinking a decent make, ie: Makita.....unless of course someone can convince me that the cheapo they bought from Aldi 5 years back is brilliant still.

I've got a Ryobi that I use rather than waking up the neighbours on a sunday morning with my Husky. Works well if kept sharp and you allow it to do the work and don't force it into the wood.

and that your flex will reach the middle of the wood you are working in....

It'll get outside the workshop to the woodpile though......

That was 18 months ago, things are getting silly now.

Hello all,
I have an electric chainsaw, and a lot of extension cable. I have found it to a reasonable workhorse. I can not remember the make, but it is orange and came from argos. I has so far seen off a pear tree, a very large cherry tree ( which split like no tomorrow ), and carved up several logs without complaint.

I would like a petrol one some day, but not too many forests left where we live so the electric one is fine.

You can always follow the cable back out so you will never get lost
