    Felder sale

I sent my sales man a link to the forum and he read through it all. I'd copy his reply here but i just got a new mouse and haven't figured out how to get the right click to work on it!!! He did admit to a lot of internal problems when one of the big managers left and the new one is almost up...

    New SCMS

A company called Westward that i get some window hardware and other stuff from has the Makita LS0714 on special for £299.99 I don't know much about this saw but i do know the LS1214 (i think) I have is great. It also comes with a 14.4v drill driver and 2 batteries. I also saw several other...

    Sharpening system

Sharpening is not a cheap investment but a worthwhile one. So even though one of these machines will not do it all, i don't see that as an a issue. As long as you are making an investment towards a complete system you are making steps forward. I don't know what the quality of any of these...

new toy gloat and recommendations for books/dvds/jigs...

You can make anything from a dowel making jig to a crown moulding jig. But it all depends on what you like to make. When i made chairs i made a dowel making jig that worked brilliantly on the table saw. I'm thinking of getting back into it so i might make another one. The table saw is an...

    Felder sale

I'm pretty divided on my choice to now. I have till april 4 though to make a decision on the sale price. To me it sounds like things are thrown together in the factory and it is a bit of hit and miss so far. And as far as aftercare service it seems to depend on who you get as an engineer. I...

    Help with Sash windows

LoL what a terrible thing that would be having to do 20 or 30 at once!!! I could only imagine, and calculate the profit *smiles*

    B&Q Tradepoint

I tend to buy fixings in advance and in bulk and just top off as i need. Probably because of the lack of cheap available goods where i live. The online service is a valuable service for me. I find this business of stopping to pick things up in the morning to be a waste of valuable billing...

    B&Q Tradepoint

I don't see any reason it needs to be a counter company. While on a trip somewhere i thought i'd stop in to a Screwfix just to see if there were some good deals or hands on so i can see what some of the things they sell are actually like, but there was nothing there but a counter and an argus...

    Workshop Essentials DVDs

Does he wear that same bright shirt in the DVD's as he does in the youtube video's? I find somethings very distracting when watching how to video's. I thought about the Band saw video as in my apprenticeship the band saw wasn't used!!! In fact I don't ever remember a band saw in any of the...

    Help with Sash windows

That would be my opinion to but it isn't to bad. I thought of doing a blind groove on the horn and just unscrewing the balance to do the turns needed to adjust but if they ever need adjusting years down the line i don't want to leave my friend unable to do so. Here's a few pictures.

    Help with Sash windows

thanks joiner_sim that did the trick. I grooved right through the horn and used Mightons balance sashes, they work brilliantly. Thanks for linking me to their site. After laying some slate in the cottage i came home and fit one of them to see how it all works. It is actually very easy. I do...

    Your best bargain buy.

Thanks for delivering it today for me. I might be picking it up in a couple of weekends. Going down to Cardiff on monday so i don't want to do the travel thing this weekend to get it. My partners parents put it in their office, at least it is a cheerful yellow, *smiles* Thanks again
