Unfortunately this will be in pine, and as I no longer need to mount the monitor on the door it will be hinged the other way now so it opens against the wall. Which also means i can use concealed hinges. The stiles and rails will be 5 inches and have a dividing kirf cut part way through and...

I just discovered IPlayer last week. Watched three being human's. I like that one. Decided not to mount the monitor on the door, and will have two panels that will open up to reveal it instead. About not having a handrail. Lets drop it. there are only two of us living here and no...

Shame on you wiser! lol. We don't have a skybox? or video box. We only watch DVD's and i'd like to get a monitor that has a DVD tray in it. I do know what you mean about opening and closing it all the time, so i may just have it inset behind a few panels that i can just open. I don't know...

This may be the case in writing, but it is definitely not enforced at all. We would not of been able to buy the house we are in right now if that was the case. Nor would hundreds of houses i've seen last year be able to be sold. It would be impossible to enforce such a rule in some properties...

From my understanding and what i've read it doens't have to be enclosed any how. It does need a handrail though. I've seen a lot of very high profile jobs on television shows that have exposed stair treads. In some cases on old houses they can't get beds upstairs if they had a handrail. I...

I don't know what your thinking, the whole thing is going to be enclosed so there won't be a need for any such things and it is easy to attach a handrail to the wall. keep up mike!

Well I woke up a couple of weeks to a little model on my table. The week before we had cut the handrails off our staircase as my partner wanted an open stair case with big chunky pine treads, rustic looking etc... So we were left with this eye sore. After a week of open stairs she decided...

    Workbench height

Ah yes there is the cross cut table and drill press station that could be considered a work bench as well. I have about 36 feet of work top space that can and does get used as workbenches. It soon adds up doesn't it. Funny the smallest workspace room i have 12.5 x 8.5 feet has the biggest...

    Workbench height

i'm 1790 and i have one bench that is 1020 and another that is 890. The taller one is for detailed work, while the shorter one is for doing rougher hand work. One that is a bit shorter would be handy as well, but how many workbenches can a person have?

That didn't take you long did it, and that is certainly some serious clamps. I hope you get a lot of use out of it, a nice little machine. Thanks for helping me towards my table saw. Another £1600 to go.

    Clamping's making my head spin.

Well i can't any more they are sold. Are you going to build the fandangled bench as well? i'm ever so pleased with mine. I need to finish the drawers in the cabinets bellow and fasten it all together and its a done deal.

    Clamping's making my head spin.

I thought of that too! I've had them lying around now for some time. It turns out i have eight sets of them. They are the Rutlands ones i think Dekota DKL20's. The reason i didn't use them for the Fandangled work bench is that it would of had to have been even deeper then it was. Already my...

    Veritas Mark II Honing Guide

knives aside i finally got my honing guide from rutlands. I returned the one from Axminster after they got a bit pissy and couldn't come up with a good reason to meet Rutlands price, but am still waiting for a refund... It's amazing how a big company like Axminster can still think like a small...

This has become a bit of a marathon thread. I expect to be seeing a jewelry box thread with pictures. Either that or a dog house thread.
