An accidental electrician.. It seemed the right thing to do.

    Axminster Price Hike

Don't forget there's been terrific inflation in ex-works prices from China over the last year or two, regardless of the exchange rate. The Chinese want a better lifestyle too - and we have to pay for them to get it!

Erm...being what? Sorry i'm thoroughly confused now. I Why do you need to change the breaker?

I don't understand that. Can you explain?

    16 amp circuit.

I have two 16A outlets each on their own circuit. For safety reasons (i.e. kids mainly) I have the means to remotely isolate the machines.

Being a moderator though, (and arrogant too), he can say what he likes and get away with it.

    Jet WetStone Grinder?

Yup. As with any wetstone, have to true the wheel initially - with the JET diamond truing tool. Does what it says on the tin. If you can't bring yourself for whatever reason to shell out on a Tormek, its a damn good tool IMO.

    Axminster Price Hike

I would suspect they will hedge by maintaining catalogue prices, but introduce more special offers and discounts. Comparing Axminsters business model to that of car companies is like comparing apples and oranges. It is well known the car manuafacturers can sell new cars at a loss, yet make...

    Anybody used/use rexon tools?

Rexon - badge-engineered Chaiwan clone stuff of variable quality. Depends what it is. The SCMS's not too bad. Some stuff though is complete sh*te.

    sharpening costs

I pay around £6 per pair 10" blades + £5 postage, so I also send a number of other items at a time.

    Spraying & Masks??

Don't know about the the Air Pro, but if it doesn't have a charcoal filter to capture organic solvents as well as a normal particle filter, don't use it. Pop in to your nearest automotive paint supplier and get a suitable respirator for about £20 or less.

Table Saw - Depth of Cut

Get a site saw like a Scheppach TKU, or a JET which is a lot cheaper. 315mm blade, 90mm cutting depth, POWERFUL motor, light and portable (<50kg). You don't have to remove the riving knife for deep cutting or rebating, only the guard. It's quite safe as long as you still use a pushstick...

    Adria or Lie Nielsen?

Shamefully perhaps, but the deciding factor for me was the handles on the Adria's. Because they were Bubinga to match my AI chisels and Veritas planes (but they are also confortable to use in my hands). I reasoned there is little differentiation between any of these 'high end' saws in cutting.

£36 for the spokeshave was an offer price. They were about £48 thereafter.

    scheppach tku outfeed extension needed

TBH, the outfeed table is a crappy bit of tin anyway. You could knock up one out of a bit of MDF or summat, and it would be just as effective. Ike
