    Triton Router bent shaft?

Mike B&Q just replace with new and the supplier has to credit them and collect their broken goods. Barry ps I have seen a return from B&Q of Triton goods and I would say less than 25% were faulty - rest worked fine but the packing was damaged.

    Triton Router bent shaft?

Jeff I was not suggesting it was you who dropped the router - the quality of help at B&Q is usually the problem. I bought mine from Ebay at £175 at the time the retail at B&Q was £249. The router had all the B&Q barcodes so who knows where it came from. Its been the best table mounted router I...

    Triton Router bent shaft?

I have had a Triton now for one and a half years and have had no problems - its got grunt and puts the T11 in the shade. Take it back to B&Q and get another one - it could have been dropped? You will find its great in the table and no need for the extension bits and its simple to work with it...

I'm looking for a pillar drill

Dennis Why floor mounted, a 1000mm works just as well if you build a stand. I bought a 3/4 HP engineering version of the pillar drill for £65. It needed lots of TLC and much elbow grease but it has scrubbed up well. It's stand should be completed tomorrow and I hope it will serve me for 10...

Cyclones - Here we go again!

At the end of the process handling the 800/1600 cubic feet per minute. Would Mr Dyson be happy with that flow rate???

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Scrit MDF is no problem from a TS or router Shaving from a thicknesser also works - the bottom of the cyclone is attached to a 65L drum. I have not connected to a planer

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Scrit I built two mini cyclones, one using the dual cyclone used in the Dyson and the other a simple cyclone. Both were attached to vacuum cleaners. Most of the dust (98%) was filtered by the cyclones into the dust bucket while same fine dust from the simple cyclone ended up in the vacuum. The...

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Ian I have spoken to them and the filter people say it filters to .5micro so that idea for MDF fine dust. The square meterage is correct so for my 3HP motor I am ordering 2 of the Donaldson P18116. I have gone for two so that there is no impedance on the flow and it will require less cleaning...

    Norms tennoning jig

Hi Allan If you have some time on your hands you could make one. From memory the Rutland one costs £90 + carriage and if you make one it will cost you less than an £10 plus your time. There are many designs that you can follow - ShopNotes have one and so do many sites. If you require more info...

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Paul the filter has to handle the flow rate of all the air sucked out of the pipes and prevent the fine dust in the air from blowing it back into the workshop. The cyclone separates the chips and large dust particles. The dyson or 10 dyson filters would cause the motor to burnout I would...

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Paul for a 3HP motor you need between 30 to 45 square meters of filter so that the airflow is not restricted to the motor . I don't think a Dyson will come close. You have a impellor with a 14" diameter turning at 2850 RPM

Cyclones - Here we go again!

Ian they look good - have called them to find out the micron size - the Donaldson torit might be the better filter. They promised to call back by tomorrow at the latest. They are 45minutes drive from me so I will go and see them if they do not call Thanks Barry

Cyclones - Here we go again!

If you are looking for the 14" Jet impellor you are waisting your time - it was only produced for the American market. What I did was buy a 3HP dust extractor and used the motor and impellor for the cyclone ( got is used on Ebay) The filters are £115 +vat if they will sell them to you as most...

    Problems with a Triton Router

I am making a new cyclone and it joins the cone to the cyclinder and I am making a baffle to reduce the 3HP motor and impellor output

    Problems with a Triton Router

Tried the new Triton router at Sywell over the weekend. its only a 1kg lighted than its big brother and lacks about 600W. For me its too heavy as a hand held and I missed the grunt of its big brother. I would not swap it for the big brother in a router table either

    Problems with a Triton Router

Cyc I have had a Triton router for about 18 months now and removed the spring straight away and replaced the cap. It has only been removed from the table once to cut circles within circles as it cannot be done on the bandsaw. Put the spring back for the operation and removed it again when put...

    DADO ADVICE

Thanks Philly its got to be quicker than using a router table and with the table saw table you have more control with the bigger bits. I have found with a normal bade and the times that I have removed the guard I have resorted to used a "Gripper" and have not had kickbacks or put my fingers in...
