    Anyone made a Bandsaw Stand?

Olly put the stand on casters with all 4 locking as you will more than likely want to move the bandsaw to cut larger pieces. Mine had a stand but I mounted it on 18mm ply and fitted the casters . I built a stand (also on casters) for the pillar drill that is heavier than the bandsaw. Used birch...

Who would buy a "Pentz" style Cyclone for £395

Bob rather move the extractor as you do your other equipment and use as short a piece of flexible as possible. If your extractor takes 6" use that with a conical reducer from 6" to 5" at the machine.

Making a cone from 160mm PVC pipe?

Thanks for the replies I will give it a go. Might consider two cuts rather than 4 but I will see how I go I was going to form a wooden plug first using the band saw or on a lathe(which I do not have) to aid with getting the shape right with the heat gun. Thanks again Barry

Who would buy a "Pentz" style Cyclone for £395

Bob I have changed the ports on my table saw and router - they started out as 1 1 1/4" to 4". It takes some work with PVC piping and a heat gun as I am untried at welding. I am sure its possible to increase your 5" port but if your extraction system is working it might not be needed?? It depends...

    Band Saw fences

Paul I bought an Incra V27 mitre gauge - the cheapest in their range at £49 - it is vastly better than my original mitre gauge but at a cost. I made my own band saw table & fence using a design in ShopNotes - its a big improvement but it requires work. If you want detail PM me Barry

    Budget dust collection

Paul the vacuum as a very limited life as the dust/chips created very quickly reduce the efficiency of your machine. You have to prevent the dust getting to the vacuum. You can make most sized fittings with PVC pipes and a heat gun. Using plumbing fittings are a good place to start but most...

Making a cone from 160mm PVC pipe?

Old many years ago I watched one of those swimming pool fitters do it - he made 4 triangle shaped cuts into the pipe and used a heat gun. With the single cut its more difficult - the heat gun is not a problem - I am trying to figure out the circumference reduction to get the 250mm depth 6"...

    Spam phone calls

The best for the Indian call centres for mobile phones is to say - What is a mobile phone?? - they go into such detail to explain it to you and in the end you say that you don't thinks its for you. For most of the rest if you say you are not the home owner and rent the property - most just put...
