How best to remove fence from concrete, updated, job done

I settled for one of the smaller ones. 125mm. When handling the 9" grinders in the shop they seemed just a might to heavy for this first time user. This cost me 69 euros complete with extra disc. I am pleased with the results. With a diamond disc I was able to remove the concrete and wire to...

How best to remove fence from concrete, updated, job done

Adam, yep, I've been thinking about what to do with any exposed bits It was one very lean, mean hunting dog. I only saw it once about the size of a labrador but short hair. Andy

How best to remove fence from concrete, updated, job done

Jake, thanks. From experience I find that whenever I buy a tool that is just adequate for the initial job that within no time I find a job that pushes the tool to it's limits and beyond. So I will take a look around and see what else I might need an angle grinder for before I buy. Andy

How best to remove fence from concrete, updated, job done

Alan, thanks, I've used a smaller one before, 5" I think, when fitting some flashing into mortar.I've got all the safety gear with exception of the toe caps - will have to be careful. An alternative, that just occurred to me, is to use bolt cutters to cut the wire but it seems a decent pair can...

How best to remove fence from concrete, updated, job done

Advice sought on how best to remove these galvanised fence panels from the concrete they are embedded in. This was built by previous house owner as a kennel and I want to remove it. All four sides are embedded into the concrete base like this. I am not bothered about leaving the base...

    CAMRA - Any members???

I can't go on reading this thread anymore. There is no such thing as real ale in France. Being a Kentish man, or is it a man of Kent, it would have to be Bishop's Finger or Spitfire for me. Andy

    Osteopathy vs physiotherapy

My father who has suffered from sciatica amongts other things maintains that an osteopath will take the pain away but the physio will develop the muscles so the pain does not happen in the first place. Andy

    Apple Leopard - DON'T (Updated)

Roger, From what I've read the new back up facility (Time Machine) won't let you burn to a DVD, is this correct? I may well invest (after the dust has settled) in Leopard just for the backup but I did not really want to buy an external drive. Andy

Ethernet cables & Hot water pipes

Thanks all, It does run over two lecky cables but not along side. Pobo, the wifi problem is a Mac software issue - it will not automatically connect after the computer wakes from sleep. I have a Netgear router that caused me no problems for 2 years in the UK but the ISP here supplies a modem...

Ethernet cables & Hot water pipes

I get those anyway! French plumbing, French Elecricals - it's like a different world. I turned off the mains stop cock (or so I was told), the other night to replace a relief valve on the hot water heater/tank, and I still got water gushing out the taps. I had to go and turn it off at the meter...

Ethernet cables & Hot water pipes

I've given up on trying to sort my Wifi problems and today made an ethernet cable and ran it under the floor, just under 10m in length. Are there likely to be problems with running the cable alongside and over hot water pipes? I could re-route if necessary but cable run would be nearer 20m Andy
