Andy, I have something like this on my cyclone, well two of them. The ebay listing does not give the full spec but if you ring them they will provide all of the details, they were very helpful.

    Porter Cable 892

Most routers have a universal motor, it is in simple terms a DC motor that will run form an AC supply as well, so the chances are yours will be OK on the 50Hz supply.

The chip breaker is as important as the blade

Pete, Come on now show us the side profile of the cap iron you made, how does it meet with the iron? I can see that having a much thicker cap iron will improve the blade stability which should improve the cutting action. :)

Congrats to Brimarc for good service and Jet for value

Yes the team at Brimarc are excellent. I bought one of the Proxion mini drills from them as a clearance item. When I came to use it found I had only one collet for the chuck, I enquired about buying a set I was told they should have come with the tool and they posted me a set FOC. :D

    Birthday Gloat

Tom, Well done on getting things you want for presents, making a list is a good plan. I have the low angle jack and use that on the shooting board, works a treat. But you really must get round to making something, otherwise you will be called a c#ll~ct%r

The chip breaker is as important as the blade

Only that a Stanley chip breaker (cap or back iron) is not completely flat, there is usually a curve and they have a bevel on the end that beds on the iron.

    Spindle Moulder Vs Router table

Well it depends on what your going to be making. If your turning out loads of window frames, architrave and skirting board then a spindle moulder is the machine to go for. If your making boxes, cupboard doors and furniture your are going to be OK with a good router in a solid table.

    Prototype Writing Box

Must agree with Stewart, the rays in the end grain look very nice, I know on some things the end grain often hidden but this is a good feature.

Table Saw Guard + Dust Extraction

As they both said I have one of these. 8) Nice bit of kit, I have it fixed on to the shop made mobile base for the saw. It is possible to undo a clamp and swing it round, useful when using the tenon jig. The fittings have slots in the mounting plates so if you do need to remove it is a quick...

    Whats your day job?

That reminds me of when I went round Aldermaston. Standing inside a test reactor the chap pointed out that their shadow board of tools was complete. Nobody ever took a tool from there.

Fixing a chip extractor to the wall?

Tom, There is still some room in my fire wood shed if you need to move scrap on somewhere. That unit looks quite good, my blower for the cyclone is from a Nutool dust collector, so possible future development option there. 8)
