    Grinder Upgrade

I had never used a white wheel on a slow grinder before, much more controllable :) than my high speed grey wheeled cheapy machine. :? Richard, did you have to give the old grinder back to the Science Museum? Could have taken it along to the antiques road show to have it valued.

    Guinea Pig number 1

Richard did indeed offer me the visor and dust mask, and I did not use the dust mask at all  and only used the visor when turning the bowl blank. I should point out that I was wearing proper prescription safety glasses while I was turning, I changed back to my vary focals for the last...

    Guinea Pig number 1

I set out this morning like a small boy coming down stairs on Christmas morning, yes I was going to visit Richard for a day of turning training. \:D/ The drive was straight forward, only missing the entrants to the yard at the last turn. Richard has a unit that is well organised, and...

Cheap English Oak (Pictures now, and the deal........)

Well as it is so close it would be silly not to at least take a board or two, I do like oak. :D So keep me in mind Mike, I might just have to pop over and view the house sign in the wood.

    Planer hone

I have one of those, useful bit of kit. It does not replace having the blades sharpened but will delay the need to have it done so often. One of the best things is I can use it with the blades still in the machine so very quick. :D

    Inspiration?

Well most of my ideas are from what you lot have posted. OK so I suppose I am a bit of a plagiarist but I am still learning how to turn, if someone posts something I really like and its of a size that will fit on the small lathe I print it out and work from that.

Easy project - high spouse approval ratings

Well these are not for LOML, they are for a friend that used to work with me, she brought in the end of the work top to me and I made it into waffles. :? I resawed the board in half and then just routed groove on both sides, she was well please with the finished result. 8)
