Gill, Good idea, you appear to be getting into much bigger stuff these days.

    Drill, needs a motor

The mounting holes on the drill are imperial centres while the new motor is metric, even the smaller motors would not have bolted straight on.

    Drill, needs a motor

ebay  the seller has lots of the pulleys, the only problem is no threaded hole for a locking screw, I have some headless allen screws and taps in a tin, somewhere, just got to hunt for them. I found a bit of 12mm silver steel I can use for the shaft, just need four large nuts and a length...

    gandy's plugs

Andy, As requested, holly on the left, beech on the right close up, beech on top The pattern in the beech will change with the angle of the face to the grain, on your black I don't think any of the faces are square to the grain.

    Drill, needs a motor

Well I bought the 1hp motor as it was a bit cheaper than either a 1/2 or 3/4 one. I figure it would just have an easy life. :) I found this picture: So decided to have a go at putting the slow speed adaptor together, had this lot arrive today Most of what is needed for it, a bit of...

dual extractor design + cyclone install

The main difference is the type of motor. Blowers like Steve (kityuser) has are induction motors, quiet in use while most leaf blowers are universal and much louder.

    gandy's plugs

Andy, I see your blank appeared to have holly written on it, but it looks more like the beech I have turned than the holly? This little box is beech While this bangle is holly

dual extractor design + cyclone install

Tony, The air ramp is to help stop turbulence, caused buy the air coming in hitting the air that is already spinning inside the unit. The air does not have to rotate clockwise, if the position for your cyclone in the shop would suit the inlet coming in the other side that is not a problem, let...

    Lubricating table saw arbor bearings

Eve, Sorry, not fully with it, too warm for my old brain to function properly. Here is your link http://www.crcind.com.au/catalogue.nsf/web_brands/Dry+Glide+with+PTFE?openDocument I think that should work well on the saw, I would wind to each end and flood with the lub a couple of times, how...

Retro fit Dust Hood advice required

Hi Graham, I have one of those, needs to be firmly attached to the saw and base as it is quite heavy and will droop. I find it needs a lot of suck to collect all of the dust above the table. Check out the guard that Steve M has made for his table saw, that fits on the riving knife but can be...

    Lubricating table saw arbor bearings

Hi EveM, Welcome to the forum. :D Your pictures have been caught by our spam trap, this will stop happening once you have a few more posts to your name. Here are your pictures: Your saw mechanism looks similar to that of my old Wadkin, I used GT85 on it when I had the table off. I am...

    Unknown Lathe. Any Idea's ???

I have edited your post to give clickable links to your pictures, I could not find a way of directly linking to them, needed to show them in line. It does indeed look like it could be a home brew lathe, nothing wrong with that, just makes buy bits for it interesting. (I still have a...

    Drill, needs a motor

I had a chance to look at this and the collar was the wrong side of the depth stop ear, I now have 4" of travel and a usable depth stop. :D I have also taken delivery of a 1hp motor, need to decide on how I am going to set it up. The new quest is to find a suitable chuck key, I have offered up...

    Walnut bowl

Johnny, I quick like chunky and that bowl is a nice one. :D But I think, looking at the picture of you turning that you are due a warning about your tool usage. It looks to me that you are turning a bowl with either a roughing or a large spindle gouge, that is not good practise...
