advice on home made dust extraction systems please

You've been caught up in the forum SPAM filter I'm afraid! It'll go away after a few posts. I'm sure somebody will be along soon who can offer some advice, all I'd say is be careful if you plan to hook the extractor below directly to pipework connected to machinery. If you have nothing in...

Asking a question of our American friends.

I regularly send gifts to a friend in the USA. You will need to fill in customs declaration stating what it is "Gift - wooden box" and an approximate value. I've never had any issues with the stuff I've sent. But it may also be worth asking the post office.

    Long full extension runners

OK, I've got a week off and the plan is to build some sheds to house the wheelie bin and recycling parafanalia as well as logs for the fire. I'm looking to make a pull out tray of some kind to put the various re-cycling boxes on, trouble is the shed is going to be just over 1m deep. I've tried...

    Elektra Beckum PK250

Thanks, I did find that site, the problem is that every nut and bolt is sold individually with some being discontinued, I was hoping to be able to just buy and aux fence and mitre gauge for example without having to work out what bits comprise each of those items! Oh well!

    Elektra Beckum PK250

Well I've fired an email off, but looking at the site, there's no mention it in the search and the accessories pages don't povide any pricing anyway. I suspect it's a case of "we don't hug the general public, please contact a reseller for a metabo authorised hug". Which was why I was wondering...

SCMS's - Not built for accuracy?

I know the use of SCMS was covered on here some time back and the suggestion was that you should pull it towards yourself. TBH I found a) it didn't cut as well done like that and b) the blade spin caused the arm to push towards me as I was pulling resulting in it often running across the work...

    Elektra Beckum PK250

Hi I have acquired an almost unused EB PK250 table saw. I take it they are now part of metabo but I'm struggling to find parts for this, in particular an auxilliary fence. Does anybody know where I can get hold of parts for this saw? Cheers Olly

    Corian router table?

FWIW it'll give you a nice flat, stable slippy surface. I'd be inclined to beef it up by putting something else under it so that it doesn't bow with the weight of a router in it. If it was free it certainly isn't a waste. My parents had corian worktops and the guy fitting it used a router...

Recycled Table Top - Any Use?

Looks almost identical to what I use as a general work table for larger items when I need to be in the garage rather than the work shop. It sits on a couple of saw horses and has a couple of MDF strips screwed on at a right angle to assist with routing activties.

Concealed hinge for an internal fitting door

Deftly side stepping all the questions about using standard or piano hinges, does anybody know where I can get a concealed hinge for a door that fits internally to the carcass rather than the more normal external? I've tried the usual suspects of Screwfix and Hafele.

    Drill guides and forsteners

I tried the same and I gave up on the idea and bought a £30 pillar drill from B&Q. You can also get drill presses that will hold an ordinary drill, worth keeping an eye open in the Lidl / Aldi / Nettos of this world.

Locking nut to stud - superglue or studlock?

I'm guessing you never want to get this off again?? Polyurathane glue works well on metals and expands to fill. I used it to hold a chunk of 4x4 to an rsj.

    Aldi Spot Blaster

Loads of them in the Nottingham branch when I was in yesterday - about 10+ of them for around £9 IIRC. Happy to sort something out, but with the postage you may find it cheaper to get one from a local Machine Mart or similar! Olly
