router table

I have a jet mortice table, and a fairly cheap band q 1020 watt plunge router . what bits do i have to take off the router, and how do i fix it to the table, the screw holes on the base plate of the router don't line upwith the holes on the table.
sorry to sound stupid, but its not obvious to me!
