    routing

Most newer cutters will have a K mark on the shank and the cutter should be inserted up to the straight line of the K.

    New Toolbox

It just goes to show, different strokes for different folks. To me, for a bench sitting chest, the dovetails are aesthetically the right way. The North Bennett School get their students to make a tool chest with a dovetail carcass and they orient their dovetails the same way too. Nice work Ollie.

    Axminster router lift - revisited

That is a neat fit Douglas, I will have to copy it as I have the same issue. If I was making another table then rotating it 90' as you mention would definitely be the way to go. I see in the latest version they have added a column lock which locates where the height adjuster would end up if...

    Dewalt DW625E Router electrical fault

Just checked and the magnet is still firmly in place. I resigned myself to either buying a new switch or a new router so decided to button it back up to keep all the bits together. Plugged it back in to check that it was no different and now it is working perfectly!! There was a bit of dust...

Domino SIPO rods OK for DF500?

Every site that I have looked at that sells the Sipo rods state that they are for the DF700, but are they equally applicable to the DF500 or does the 700 cut wider mortices meaning they won't fit into a mortice cut by a 500? Any advice greatly appreciated!

    Norm on Discovery Shed

I really like Tommy MacDonald once I got used to his style. He covers a range of projects from a tray to the incredible bombe secretary. He also shows his mistakes and how he overcomes them which most of us can relate to!

Time for a proper thicknesser, suggestions ?

Whilst I haven't tried either the Dewalt or the Makita, i have an Axminster MB1933. It performs well, has a cutter head lock and digital readout for height adjustment. 13" width and 6" depth capacity. It is hellishly noisy though!

I think I would wrap the box in a cotton sheet before putting the bubble wrap around it. Agree with Mark that your work looks fantastic. I particularly like the Solar Table, stunning work!
