    fixed upholstered banqette seating

A cheaper way is to make MDF formers and join them together with 2x1 - 3x1 batterns . You make one former and then copy route it to make as many as you like . Once joined with the battern you can clad with ply . I did hundreds of these in the Hammersmith palais , i'll see if i can find a picture .

    Help with Sash windows

I think they look far better let into the frame ... you also don't have to groove out a load of mortice and tenon that will weaken the sash . I do a 17mm x 17mm grove to take the spirals . You can also buy a gasketed parting bead that will stop draughts and i put a brush on the face lining...

Xtreme Xstension or Eliminator or ?

Hi mate , The eliminator looks ok and also looks like its made by the same company as the XX and Legacy . Fantom i think but i dont really care who makes stuff as long as it works for me . You need to balance the xx in the collet ( collets ain't that good so extending them with the trend type...

    Starting a sash window business

Thats the whole point of the oh so funny FENSA  Crazy i know but it is the law now and a heavy fine for any fitter not complying with building regulations as they should know better .

    Starting a sash window business

Fensa isnt a 1-2 day course . You make a window and they check to see if its any good . If it is they let you join and do spot checks on your jobs . You also need to prove to them that all insurance policies and other paper work are in place . Much easier to get the local BCO out to check it if...

    portable chain morticer

Its mine and made by Ryobi . Good for doors i find but no good for windows as the chain guide is to big for a small haunch ( about 56mm from memory ) . The break out isnt that bad and as you wedge a M&T the break out is cut out anyway . I do half and half myself as i need to cut a haunch anyway...

Robbing Big H to pay little E.

Looks like an odd truss roof to me . It looks like the middle bracing has been removed :? A bit like most of my posts lately  Would be interested to see the architects drawings but i also would worry to much . Even if it was holding something up there is always a way around it .

Robbing Big H to pay little E.

That stud wall looks structual to me , probably not a problem if you have a cut and fix roof but if its a truss roof as i think it may be from the style of building you may have taken away some structure without supporting it another way . Jake made me tell you , i didnt think it...

    Failed rendering - recommended approach

Sorry to say it Rog but it looks like dry rot to me  Typical conditions with a down pipe and timber covered over with a small skim . Try exposing more of it and see if there are any root like feelers / spores . I really hope i am wrong !

[SOLD]Startrite T30 spindle moulder for sale

Brads a bigger man than me ? Now that really is funny  Regarding the spindle tooling , yes it is silly money but it will earn its keep if you use it enough . Depends what you want to do i suppose . If its hobby then spending on spindle tooling isnt worth it IMHO . If you can make it pay...

[SOLD]Startrite T30 spindle moulder for sale

Wizer , i just had visions of the spindle shooting through the workshop wall and the timber staying where it was  It made me giggle anyway . Brad , you make it sound like Scrit and yourself are best mates . We both know that is not the case so your little bitchy digs are not needed mate...
