    Lighting - electrical advice

Yes, that's my point. Sorry - I'm obviously being dense - so can a flex be attached in that case.

    Lighting - electrical advice

I don't expect it will come with a flex to put a plug on, though.

    Lighting - electrical advice

I need to place some lighting in an area of a shop to light some furniture. I don't to spend much - as I rent a small space there as it's not my shop - but I've been told I can put some lights up similar to the link below but they need wiring to a plug so they can go straight into the mains...

    Mac virus alert

Definitely haven't downloaded a dodgy codec. I would like to know what the animated bug running around the screen is which started when I clicked the link- very small but still there. Also can't account for the 26GB of HD space disappearing overnight.

    Mac virus alert

I did last year using Virtual Machines, but not for about a year a more.

    Mac virus alert

Roger, I still have a small bug running around the screen which came when I clicked on the link so something is running on the Mac. I tried Clam and it found Backdoor.OSX.iWorm and Win32.Henky.5668 - scarily Kaspersky has found Trojan-downloader.wma.getcodec and the others so far and only on...

    Mac virus alert

I've just stupidly clicked on a link in an email form a friend. It came up when a page opened that it was to do with a Canadian Health care company. It then dawned on me that it was a virus - I checked the email and it was copied to everyone beginning with C in her address book. At this...

Advice re old wire hinges - old chest

I have an old chest which haas original wire hinges - the ones on the body of the base are ok but the that go through the lid of the chest and then bend back (like a butterfly clip) have broken. I've found a company that make iron replacements as I'm trying to keep them in character with the...

    Wood identification

I don't think it's mahogany. I'm coming around to elm too.

    Wood identification

Thanks - is that the general consensus?

    Wood identification

I have an old cupboard that dates c. 1800 which is made of pine and the front face is another wood - I've had a suggestion of elm, but I can normally spot elm and this seems to have lots of small black lines tightly packed in the grain. Any suggestions? ]

Anyone any ideas on posting this parcel?

This is really very kind of you. They are open on the saturday morning after the sale from 9-12. I'll PM you if that's ok and obviously I would owe you big favour.

Anyone any ideas on posting this parcel?

Oh, my goodness. What a kind offer. It is indeed Durrants on 14th May. I would be leaving a commission bid and hope to be successful but you never know. They would normally hang on to small items for a few days (I would ring and pay over the phone) but I wouldn't know until the end of the...

Anyone any ideas on posting this parcel?

I want to bid in an antiques auction on what is essentially a small wooden box. I haven't go the exact dimensions but it's about (roughly) 20" by 5". I know I can send one like that for about £8 (with insurance) by royal mail. unfortunately the auction house doesn't offer a postal...

Anyone used a website designer for a small business website?

I'm really looking to attract visitors to the shop rather than actual sales off the site. I personally think a web presence is almost expected for most businesses in today's market.

Anyone used a website designer for a small business website?

Just to cover a couple of points - it's not a woodie site I have - I'm an antiques dealer (part time - mainly 17th and 18th c country furniture). I have linked in to twitter and facebook for marketting and need to get the site ranked on google - I suppose through increased traffic. I'm...

Anyone used a website designer for a small business website?

I've designed a website myself for my small business using iWeb on a Mac but I've no idea how to get it ranked on Google so it appears in searches. I might be better using a website designer but I still want to be able to add to the website myself as my stock changes. Has anyone used one...
