    Recommendation for petrol garden shredder

We do have a bonfire area but there really is SO much hedging, loads of trees etc that hauling it down to the bonfire area is such a pain. Can't really have a bonfire any close to the house for garden layout reasons so it means hauling everything about 600 feet away. A lot of the hedging is...

Arrgh - was only looking to spend around £350 - not sure I'll get anything decent for that kind of money then.

    Recommendation for petrol garden shredder

Does anyone use a petrol garden shredder? I'm thinking of getting one as I'm trying to get the garden in good order so it's looking presentable as we're looking to move - and we have lots of hedges and trees. Looking for one that will shred branches about 1 1/2 inches across as things have got...

Going to be without my workshop for a while.....

Unfortunately, it's catch 22. The vacancies will come up at short notice. We can't get a transfer if we aren't in a position to move, so if everything goes ok jobwise, and then we can't sell the house, we'll have lost our chance and it could be a long while before the job opportunity comes up...

Going to be without my workshop for a while.....

Mrs H has decided that the guest annex that I'm using as my workshop is going to have to be returned to its former glory so that we can sell the house. We want to move back to Somerset, but it's not straight forward transferring jobs etc so we want to move into rented until vacancies arise and...

    Jigsaw blades for old oak

I need to cut an arch shape in an old piece of oak - originally it was part of a very old oak floorboard. Can't bandsaw as it's an internal cut so I need to use the jigsaw. Although it's only about 1" thick, the jigsaw blades are breaking. I've done it before but should I be using a...

    Advice on small cedar shingles

I'm making a grand bird table which will have a round conical-shaped roof which I want to cover with cedar shingle tiles. I suppose I could buy full size and cut down but I expect they are too thick and there would be plenty of wastage through the P?T. Ideas or advice appreciated. I expect...

Black paint around bottom of cottage below render

Our cottage is rendered and painted white apart from the few inches at the bottom nearest the ground. There is a bell drip where the render finishes and the bottom few inches are unrendered brick painted black. This paint is fading and we are doing the place up to get ready to sell. What...

Normally clicking and holding the left button over the task bar and then dragging it back to the bottom works.
