    New Layout Questions and Answers

Is it worth having a thread questions and answers? No complaints, just questions. For example, the old forum could show me a list of all threads that I participated in. My question is, is this function in the new system and if so, where? I asked a question a while back, got some great answers...

Unfortunately, this is the most exciting thing that has happened to me today :| It's different, it works, it's just fine.

    Sheet Soft wood.

It's not A4 but you mentioned gluing it together? http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/aca ... sheet.html They do all sorts. I found them when I was looking for walnut dowel.

Record DMD24A Pillar Drill - SOLD

OK, I am selling my Record DMD24A but please read this first. It was manufactured in 1999 but over the last few years it developed a problem. It will quite happily drill away but then for no apparent reason the chuck and metal taper thing will drop out! I've tried everything to stop this...

    Woodworkers in Wales

Not local to me, but what a nice idea :D Good luck!

    Drilling large diameter long holes

I'm with Lazarus on this one, a local woodturner. Which may sound strange as you are drilling a hole and not turning the piece of wood. However, a woodturner might have a long hole boring tools and setup to do this. If not, your only option is to find a 40cm wood drill bit of some description...

How much will this door stop sell for??

Yep, and auctioneers. I love looking at these types of actual bona fide auction sites. The stuff they sell is just mind boggling

Was i being greedy? - router table advice

Oh. I am just coming to the end of a large ABW job, about 400+ metres that has been profiled, grooved and cut, many many times. What was interesting to me was that lugging the planks backwards and forwards, just how variable the weights were of identical lengths. Also, when cutting or routing...

Was i being greedy? - router table advice

It was illustrated to me by holding a pencil. Grab a normal length pencil by the fist with just the tip protruding. Now try to wiggle the pencil by the tip. Little movement. Now grab the pencil at the end and now wiggle the tip. Lots of movement. Not very scientific, I know, but the guy who...

    Epoxy resin

I always check my nuts. The bolt should go in both ends, but sometimes they don't.

    Working with wenge

When Custard asked "Where do you read this stuff?" wenge-t30694.html It's all so confusing

Was i being greedy? - router table advice

Just a thought, how far was the cutter shank sitting outside the collett? I don't want to sound like "YOU DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT", but I would have started the depth at 1/2 the cutter diameter, so about 3mm in this case and see what it felt like. It was just a rule of thumb that I was told back...

    Epoxy resin

Well, the only combinations I know of are thin, medium or thick and 5 minute or 24 hour epoxies. Take your pick for this one. I guess it would depend on how accurately the hole has been cut for the nut and how quickly you need it.

How much will this door stop sell for??

Google Whittaker & Biggs and check out their website. I sense a lot of p*ss taking on the aforementioned lot. It's out of order in my opinion. They seem to specialise in door stops. Presumably keeping your door open in Cheshire is a problem. They can solve it. Whittaker & Biggs have got some...

    picture frame wood choice

It's all personal taste, but for me wood frames don't go with black & white. I would favour black, but another option might be a shade of grey. Already said, it's the picture not the frame and black might overpower the picture (Dunno, I haven't seen the picture :) )

abnormal drill press runout please help!!

They did offer a refund and collection, but that was it. However, I needed a floor standing pillar drill. Because I'm not doing precision stuff, I can make an allowance, so in my example, I needed 9mm holes, so I used an 8mm drill bit. I guess that in the end, I sometimes feel as if I just get...
