Thanks Andy & Phil. Looks like I might have taken the varnish off then. Just how long should it take for the water based varnish to dry before it can be sanded? It's been at least 12 hours in 18+ degrees. Yes, I did use a power sander, very delicately if that's possible. I tried my Abranet but...

My tuppence worth. I have a table saw which is great but I found that the 8x4 sheets were the proverbial PITA. That's when I bought a plunge saw and never looked back. I've never had a problem with accuracy. And I have never split open my finger nor broken my thumb on the plunge saw :oops...

I gave up a long time ago with the Nitromors stuff. The last time I stripped paint I used a product called Peelaway. Excellent stuff I found.

I was just Googling drying time for Brummer and this thread appeared. I did not know that you could resurrect a tine of Brummer by heating it up! Now I do, excellent!
