That's high pressure low volume, not quite the same thing as High volume lowpressure. If you want to shift high volume then a lot of air trying to squeeze through little gaps in a cupboard is not going to work. Alan

There is no reason not to use beech but Lignum vitae or similar naturally oily wood would be better. If you are to use beech I would try soaking them in a light machine oil or WD40 perhaps. This has been discussed before on the forum do a search for cool block and click the search for all terms...

A misunderstanding by your electrician, and he should know better. Polystyrene can give of a chemical that will turn pvc insulation into a jelly, it's nothing to do with the heat given off by the cable. (for reference all insulation will lower the load rating of the cable)...

Just be aware that the cable you are looking at is not external use grade. It will last for quite a while but will degrade and fail eventually. External grade is considerably more expensive. Alan
