    Cheap set of router bits!!!

It would look pretty having all those bits, but you'd probably only ever use 3 or 4 of them. buy good quality of what you need. or as roger has said above buy them and you'll have them for when you get stuck. I suppose if you just want to try stuff out you could get them but you would quite...

    hinge help

I've just had a look at the blum catalogue and cannot find a suitable hinge for the flat bifold. but you can get them for the corner doors. weight wise blum give a guide as to how many hinges you need per kg. if you are trade, the best prices and very efficient service comes from...

Woodscrews - Torx head vs Pozidrive

I tried them, but I found them not as quick to use as a pozi. locating the bit in the head, seemed to take me too long. I don't have issues with slipping with pozi at the moment, it's surprising how many people will use a Phillips head with pozi screws, which does cause slipping.

Stupid photos as I had my macro lense on the camera when I took it to the workshop

Wadkin tooling help. looking for the old scary stuff.

Mr 613 I do not have any of the tooling you are looking for, but something I do have which I might be tempted to part with for the wadkin temple, is the original adjustable fence from the cc catalogue. I also have the table stands, but it would probably be cheaper for you to cast them in the US...

    Timber Merchants

no, it's just me, checking, some people get timber from b&q, some from a builders merchant and some from "proper" timber yards. I just fancy being able to go and get timber within viewing distance, at the moment it comes from over the bridge. thanks for the info, i'll check them out.

    Record Plane Poster

Bought some posters at a carboot a while ago, scanned one, not very well done, but I think you get the gist of it. If there is any/enough interest, i'll try and do this better, and scan the others, before I put them up in the workshop.

    New workshop reuired - maybe a log-cabin?

If you have it all planned out to the last nail, with funds in place then it shouldn't take you 6 months, saved money can buy more toys. you'll get a lot more for your money, and you could design in removable panels for the extension, because nobodies workshop is ever big enough.

    New workshop reuired - maybe a log-cabin?

after adding a few options, the price gets huge. why not design and build your own? custom design perfect for yourself.

Chisels - how low can you go?

when I first started buying tools, I had little money, but plenty of enthusiasm. this was before internet forums, possibly before decent internet. I bought what I could afford. Some tools I could not wait to replace, but some I continued to use until I just fancied getting better ones. If I was...

    Wadkin bts

sorry, I didn't say that when I start the machine, it sounds pretty violent. the planer head is a substantial lump of metal, so to get that moving from 0-? in the matter of a millisecond is quite an ask. I am currently getting 3 phase from a generator, but will soon be getting a rotary...

    Wadkin bts

So after getting a load of welding done and putting the machine back together (luckily with a very detailed manual as I just had a big pile of nuts and bolts), I have a working monster p/t. I adjusted the drive belts to be relatively tight. Should I have a certain amount of slack in the...

What router & table for minor jobs (newbie!)

do you definitely need a table? a lot can be done in hand, and that would mean that you could spend your whole budget on the router itself. but buying one with the future possibility of table mounting would obviously be a good idea.

    Tool accuracy

As long as you don't get to bricky tolerances of being in the right field. As long as setting up to .01mm doesn't take all morning then it makes life easier down the road. also depends on whether there has been a good deal on 80 grit recently.
