I've never used a round mallet, but my understanding is that the round surface means it is hard to miss hit the chisel, with a hexagonal head to the mallet are you not making it likely to knock at an off angle and skew the chisel? I do like the design though

I agree, particuarly annoying when using a variety of different drills, it would be nice if the slip clutch was marked with a torque rating, so if you dial it to 30 it will slip at 30nm, and 30 is 30 on all drills, also would be a quick way of telling how powerful a drill is. Can't see it...

i pretty much always use the clutch, I see no need to risk damaging the screw or the work

confused by the screwing backwards business, I've done it, but always assumed it just meant I didn't have my torque set high enough. Didn't realise it was a technique
