    Faster than a speeding bullet!

Yes it is the 500. I have to admit that I did originally see it as an up market biscuit jointer and thought it was a scandalous price for that. Since seeing them in action and after now having used one it is worth every penny in my mind. It is so simple to use it could turn a raw novice into a...

    Faster than a speeding bullet!

Whoo Hoo! Why didn't I buy a Domino sooner? After getting some sheets of MDF this morning and making a start on some wardrobe doors this afternoon I have them finished ready for priming! I used the Domino for the doors instead of my usual M&T system. What a difference it made! So accurate...

    Chicago skytower....eeek

They have one at the top of the Blackpool tower called the 'walk of faith' I have stood on that one but have to admit my knees went to jelly.

    Even more Oak!

Thanks guys. the mirror is held in with beading and screws at the back in case it ever needs replacing. As for the tilt, it is held with screws and a couple of small bushes that are just tight enough to allow it to tilt with a bit of friction so it stays put.

    Even more Oak!

Just finished this dressing table mirror for the customer with the oak units. This was a little extra job they asked me to do.

    Chinese tat!

You have probably thought I had been quiet for a while but I have still been busy with work. At the moment I am working on a couple of cabinets what I can only describe as Chinese tat! This is another job for my local furniture company to get them out of the quagmire. I had originally quoted...

    Biscuit Jointers

I had a Ferm biscuit jointer for a few years and thought it was ok but the slots were slightly slack, it did it's job but wasn't perfect. After using an Elu one I saw the difference! and what a difference! The biscuits had to be pushed firmly into the slots and the joints were very very...

    Hot Tub

Excuse my ignorance Jon but what keeps the water in? Is it just a tight fit like a barrel or are the planks glued together? You can tell I know nothing about hot tubs. (I can tell you all about gazebos to cover them)

Great, good to hear your spraying is going well Olly. It does look much more professional than hand painted I think, much quicker too.

Zinsser BIN and Alcro Servalac Aqua Matt Täckfärg = NO GOOD?

I have not used Zinnser bin yet but have been told the same as you that it is quick drying and can be over coated with any finish! Iwas also led to believe it is spirit based which if so will be all of the above?? now I am confused? :?

    box jointing router tips

I always use an up cut spiral bit when cutting box joints as they do give a cleaner cut. I also use a sacrificial board at the front and the fence at the rear and this gives a clean cut. I should add though that I only use solid wood and not ply. HTH.

    Oak units fitted

Yes the shelves are lipped at the front and rear. I agree about the photos, they were taken on my camera phone. When I return I shall take my digital camera and take some more with that. Although the camera has a higher resolution it doesn't seem to take as good shots as the lower res camera...

    Oak units fitted

Today I fitted the tall oak units for my customer. It took a full day due to the large unit having to be scribed into the coving and assembled on site. I had made a scribe panel for one side as it sat into the corner of the coving at one end and the corner was too ornate to scribe around! (OK, I...

    louvre doors!

if you remember a little while ago I made a jig for the Domino to make some louvre doors, well I finally got one together and although it was a pain to assemble it didn't turn out too bad IMO. Only three more large ones to make and then four smaller ones! what was I thinking?

    Oak units finished

Thanks for the info Bob. i do have quite a good relationship with my supplier (my local timber merchant) As I do buy a lot of board materials from them. I shall ask them next time and see if they will play ball. I have refused panels in the past due to them being damaged so will see what they...

    Oak units finished

No that was the best match I could get on them Bob as this is what they sent me in the boards. I think they were from different batches.

    Oak units finished

I got the rest of the Oak workroom units finished today and will be fitting them next week. It has taken longer than I expected as I had a few problems getting the cornice right. I had a dry assembly so I could square it up and fit the doors as there isn't much room to work on site. The...

    Traditional four paneled internal door

Is it just a straight cut on the edges or is there a moulding? nice job.

    Another one!

I have a job coming up next week to box in some stairs to make a cupboard so in between my other work today I made a start on it. As it is light framework I again decided it was a job for the Domino. After making up a rod I cut all the pieces and got stuck in with the Domino. After a couple of...
