For the shed bearers or floor framework, I would use composite timbers say 100 x 50mm section. Therefore, no timber, tantalised or otherwise in contact with the ground block. More expensive at the moment but you will get the longevity. Tantalised timbers are not as good as say 20 years ago!

Do you have a magnetic tool holder? Very often these make the tool magnetic also. It may be this that is making it stick? I know I have experienced this.

Dave, a cabinet makers trick used to use or mix the sanding dust from the piece with a pva glue. The pva dries clear and leaves a very similar colour, filled hole. Never used the method on turnig pieces but, you never know. Could always test on a spare piece perhaps first? Dave Mc
