Clean cutting plywood - that's easy isn't it?

I'm not sure why not? The scoring blade can be deactivated making it the same as an ordinary track saw. The original post is about cutting up sheets of ply, this saw with its scoring function would be ideal, you've gone off on a tangent which in relation to this post is irrelevant in my opinion.

Clean cutting plywood - that's easy isn't it?

On a track I can't see any problem with it, providing the track is long enough to give a good run in. 🙂

    Face frames query MRMDF

I agree with you, I'm sure they were used long before MDF was used in door manufacturer. Also they are hidden and make door adjustment/alignment much easier.

    Face frames query MRMDF

Is that screw in the face of the board? Put a screw in the edge of mdf under some tension, as you would with a butt hinge and see how long it stays in place. Not long.

    Face frames query MRMDF

What type of hinges will he be using?if it's a concealed cabinet hinge (like a kitchen cabinet hinge) then mdf will work, if it's a butt type hinge then no, the doors will need wooden frames.

    Hardpoint saws vs resharpenable

I really don't know how you can watch this bloke, "the straight talking northerner", a lot of what he says is complete nonsense. "The jarring" of his rip saw, perhaps, just maybe, he can't sharpen a saw as well as well as he thinks he can. The main thing he didn't mention is that a Japanese saw...

    Painting kitchen cupboards and doors

A direct answer to your paint query, Screwfix Leyland Trade Acrylic white primer/undercoat, any type of top coat, I usually use Dulux Eggshell but as you are going to lacquer over it you could even use vinyl matt. I'd use Screwfix Trade Floor Varnish over the top coat, it comes in Gloss or...

Out of level alcove cupboards, ideas and opinions please

Speaking from a similar experience, if you make the base door frames slightly higher than the dado rail, so that the top is above it and keep it level this will make the out of level dado less noticeable. Make the frame stiles wide enough so they can be scribed over the skirting and dado.

    Improved hand tool myth.

The Veritas Norris style adjusters are quite poor as well, I haven't owned a Lie Nielsen plane with that adjuster, their lateral lever and advance/retard screws are very good. Regards Mark

    Improved hand tool myth.

Hi Jacob, youve lost me with " a short term advantage" why are better machining and superior materials short term advantage? Sharpening and fettling are irrelevant in the context of your original post, it has nothing to do with improvements or advances in hand tool manufacture. You keep trying...

    Improved hand tool myth.

Hi Jacob, you said in your original post "Has there been any development or improvement at all in hand tools" I pointed out the improvement in materials and engineering of Lie Nielsen and Veritas hand planes, out of the box they are superior to new and vintage planes. Sharpening and fettling...
