    Help with making driveway gates

A hammer and chisel will do this easily, if you can’t do it without expensive machines, I bet you can’t do it with them either.

Is this the cut you’d expect from a 4 TPI bandsaw blade?

Buy a new blade and try that. I’d say it’s not horrendous and if it’s cutting straight you’re most of the way there

    Very wide boards

That size isn’t particularly unusual, but you’ll have to accept some form of shake and knots as its come from an old tree, they tend to pick up defects over time. I’d go for veneers at that size of you want it clean

Screwfix, what an utter pain in the proverbial

Sounds like you’re having problems with the modern world. Maybe find a nice little hardware store with a bloke in a brown coat to help you from the other side of the counter and wrote you a receipt on carbon paper? How ironic you’re complaining about it on the internet which you could have used...

Any wood supplier near a yacht location has it

    Pva for Iron on veneering

The problem with that method is the PVA expands the wood and the iron dries it out again, having just stuck it to something that doesn’t want to move, so it can crack quite easily, same with the iron-on glue. I’m more of a wet PVA and vacuum bag person now but if I didn’t have them, I’d probably...

    Cheap Dogs for MFT

I should imagine for a single dog anything that sticks in the hole will do. For using an MFT for any of its more useful functions then you need more than one and having them highly similar becomes somewhat more important.

    Advice for router table build

All aluminium is surface oxidised, you can remove it but it re-oxidises in milliseconds, sanding it is just polishing it really. You can stick plastic to boards with contact adhesive, I had 2mm PVC on MDF for several years and it worked just fine. Your top sounds quite shallow for anything...

    Exotic wood purchase

Maple is less common over here as it doesn’t grow so much. If you’re not dead set on the species some ripple ash is easily as impressive as ripple maple and way cheaper too, but open grained
