    Nail Guns, and Pressure

Start of low and increase until it put the nail under the surface. I think mine is set at about 7 bar. Jon

    Oak bedroom suite

I dont usually bother finishing veneered panels. I usually glue the panels in as well to give extra rigidity to the door and a finish on the panel will stop the glue from doing its job. Jon

    Grabbits, which one?

Its unlikely to find anyone with experience of both products to give you an opinion as to which product is best. I bought the trend product to remove a screw which had been mangled by someone else. The trend one didnt work for me as i ended up drilling out the screw. Jon

You have said one blade is 3.2mm and the other 1/8 inch thick which are pretty much exactly the same. Jon

    saw blades

I generally have dedicated sawblades for either ripping croscutting or panel sizing. I have a few freud blades and they are generally very good. I also have blades from stehle and gomex which are very good aswell but probably less available than the freud blades. Jon

I have been doing a bit of tenoning today so I thought I would post some pics to show the machine in action. Timber loaded up ready for cutting. Timber passed through the machine Finished result a clean crisp tenon The stock is35mm thick, the tenon is 9.5mm 3/8 inch thick and 115mm...

    single phase tenoning

Hi I have a Multico Tm tenoner and it is a decent machine which doesnt take up too much space. Mine is 3 phase but there are plenty of single phase ones around. From a dealer one will cost upwards of 1.5k and a good ebay example is around 1k or slightly more for very tidy examples. I would...

    Cam Locks

The Hafele jig is very good but expensive about £250 with the Vat for the jig and drill bits. It depends how much you use the cam locks as to whether its worth it. Its fairly easy to knock something up out of scrap mdf to do the job with. Jon

    Sliding Doors?

They are usually called pocket or flipper doors. I usually use hafele but there are some here too. http://www.isaaclord.co.uk/productDetai ... subCat=000 On the Hafele ones you usually have to use a bigger 40mm cup concealed hinge. I am not sure about the Blum ones. Jon

    Elm Wardrobe

Hi Bob I actually use veneer quite a bit in my workshop so i have nothing against the material and use bookmatching or other veneer patterns in my work quite a bit. What I was trying to get at was that i prefer the look of the wardrobe as it is rather than having a sheet of pre veneered mdf cut...

    Elm Wardrobe

I like it and also like the fact that it is not bookmatched it shows the grain off nicely and shows its not a bit of souless veneered MDF furniture. jon

I watching this, might be some logs in it if your in Torquay

Hi Mick whereabouts are you in the country. I have been storing my mates multico bandsaw at my workshop for about 2 years now and to be honest I could do with it out the way. He would probably sell it fairly cheap its probably a similar size to the axminster one on ebay. Jon

    saw problem

I have a problem with my panel saw. The saw always used to stop in about 8 seconds and over the last few months has started to take longer to stop its now at about 16 seconds which is over the 10 seconds allowed. I dont know much about electrics and wondered if anyone could tell me if its likely...

    Widest P/T

If you want something that wide and reasonably priced 99% will be 3 phase. If you have a decent power supply you could run one of these of a 3 phase convertor. I have seen some large capacity 3 phase machines make very little on e-bay so even adding the cost of the convertor it may be...

Black Walnut often has a purplely tinge to it. I cant really tell from the photos but it looks a little light to be black walnut although the contrast between the heart and sapwood looks like black walnut. Jon

    Oak Wardrobe and Cabinets

Nice work Dan. I think the whole thing would look better in a natural clear finish. I usually try to talk the customer round to having a clear finish but if they insist i will use stain afterall they are paying for it. Jon
