    Competition WIP - Rocking Chair

I agree looks better. I was also thinking the back may be a bit on the high side judging from the scale of the seat the back looks like it would be above head hight and may look better dropped to shoulder type height. Jon

    scheppach ts2500ci

Hi Pintglass I think the saw will handle a 2100X600 panel fairly easily. You will only be able to crosscut it however as the sliding table will only do about a 1400mm crosscut even though they call it a 2.1m rail. If you are cutting these size panels regularly you cant beat a full size sliding...

    Competition WIP - Rocking Chair

Initial concepts look good. I think the seating part of the chair could do with sloping to the back a bit and the back rest is a little upright. This is a similar idea which shows what I mean about sloping the seat back. http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/ ... px?id=5119 Jon

    scheppach ts2500ci

Hi Pintglass I used to use a 4010 with sliding table and while cutting long and heavy workpieces the sliding table did tend to deflect a little. . Under normal use on small to medium furniture components the saw was very accurate. I notice you can know get an outrigger which should help stop the...

    Commercial workshop- My kit

Very nice shop there Bob. It looks well set out and uses the space well and I like the timber rack ideas. Do you have a Bandsaw?. I think I would have made do with one van though and bought an Altendorf :D . Jon

This 3 phase- single phase conversion issue

Good idea Bob. I have 3 phase in my workshop but a few years ago I nearly moved to a workshop with no 3 phase power. I researched the options for a while and found it to be quite confusing so a tutorial would be a good addition to the forum. I used to have my workshop behind a motor rewinders...

    Sliding carriage wanted

Hi Mark I have 2.1m rail and sliding table from a scheppach saw kicking around the workshop gathering dust. I am pretty sure they are the same design as the one for the spindle moulder but i am not 100% sure. I would be willing to sell this if it fits your machine. Jon

    MODERN machinery?

Hi John I presume you mean the brand name modern. From the pieces I have seen It looks well made and solidly built. Not in the same league as wadkin but on a par with multico and startrite ie solid machines for the small workshop. What have you seen Planer Thicknesser? Jon

    Matching Teak

Teak Veneer is still available so you could have panels pressed in this. But it depends how much money you have got in the job. Another option would be cherry veneer with a little stain or tinted lacquer. I have just finished a job for a guy who makes really nice sailing yachts and he is still...
