    Solid Oak Library

Looks a nice neat job there. I agree these projects usually photograph better full of books. There is one think I would have done differently and that is put a back in the units even if its painted MDF the same as the walls so that you can allow a bit on the sides to be able to scribe the side...

Electric Guitar Project - Almost Complete!

Thats looking great philly. You and the other guitar builds going on have inspired me to get out my melvyn hiscock book and start making a few plans for a build of my own. Theres some good youtube links here for more industrial production http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRsr8QN-0BI...

    Router bushes

I think the K suffix means electronic speed control on dewalt routers. I have guide bushes for my dewalt 621 which I got from dewalt through a local dealer. Jon

    Bench or no bench?

I would find an indoor project for it as Beech is classed as perishable if used outside. Jon

Axminster do some cutters for sash windows http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Whit ... -19800.htm There is probably more info in the catalogue than online. If you are doing new work with double glazing they wont be suitable as the rebate will not be deep enough. My process for sash windows...

    Summer Bash - August 22nd

Summer Bash. After talking to Brad about hosting a woodworking bash I have decided it might be a good idea. The workshop is fairly large so could accomodate quite a few people and is fairly centrally located being in Lincolnshire between Boston and Sleaford. I could do machining demos, domino...

    Danckaert

The felder looks pretty old and doesnt seem to have any guards so at nearly £1 to a euro looks pretty expensive to me. Olly has given you some good advice try to hear the machine running is always good as you can hear play in the cutterblock bearings etc. Otherwise have a good look at it check...

    Are They Taking The P*ss?

Having been stung in the past over customers choosing expensive handles I now quote for them separately usually with a small 25% markup from trade prices. Jon

Assembly Stand to counter an un-even floor

I have something similar in the workshops as the floor is all over the place. I have used adjustable kitchen legs on mine so that the platform can be leveled perfectly flat and level. If the platform is isnt level you can get some misalignment of doors etc when the furniture is installed. My...

    Single phase upright router table

Elu used to do a small light industrial router. There is some info and pics here. As already said the dewalt router bodies should fit or do you require the complete machine? https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ... p?p=162598 Jon

    Danckaert

No direct experience with the planer thicknesser but I used to use a danckeart overhead router which was solidly made and built to last. A local joinery shop to me has a dankeart surfacer which is probably 50 years old and still going strong. Jon

    pocket holes or biscuit joints?

The problem with using pocket screws is filling the holes that are produced and getting a reasonable grain match. I use pocket screws in places which arent seen but not on an open shelving unit. I would prefer to use either a domino or biscuit joint glued and clamped or simple glued housing...
