    Electric vehicles

That's no longer necessary since 16/12/21. I didn't think it was a bad law despite my having grandfather rights to tow a trailer, drive 7.5T truck.

Until the government realise the tax take is diminishing so whack more tax on it.

    Orbital sander

I have a 30 y. o. Makita 1/2 sheet I no longer use - the DeWalt RO is faster. The most irritating thing is that the bag connects to a "L" shaped slot - it should have been "j" shaped. If you were sanding e.g. a door lining and your wrist touched the bag it would shoot across the room, becoming...

I've flattened my water stones twice in forty years.

I have a 125mm DeWAlt. Not the best by a mile but it does everything I want at a price I was happy to pay.

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

I had the stove top fans - I found them a waste of time. Get a small electric desk fan - I had a 10" one and put it on the hearth. My room was 25' long so the fan blew across the front, up the room. At the other end I put a 4" extractor fan under the coving, blowing into the stair well. When...

    No Fault Evictions

It's not simply a matter of giving it to them either. The system is skewed. As someone pointed out long ago - if you are genetically programmed to do the best you can for your family, and the system gives you more for not working than working is it altogether surprising people take that...

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

The firebricks in the last stove I had (an expensive Clearview, I can't speak for others) were insulators - they stored next to nothing. I wouldn't change my Dowling for anything else.

I bought a base level 1/4 sheet Metabo - it put me off ever buying Metabo again.

    No Fault Evictions

I asked this once before. If Jacob thinks the government can spend his money better than he can, I assume he can show us a tax return showing he's paid much more that the HMRC have demanded. He didn't appear to have read the post for some reason.

Popped into my YT feed-Afghani recycling

I read about a few weeks ago - in some cases children had blood lead readings 600 times higher than they should be safely due to there being no control over what's in the alloys. It's causing many Afghan children to become ********. Still want one?

Mesh abrasives are a revelation (abranet / 3m cubitron). Yes. A chap who runs one of the local builders' merchants made the point one day - it always amazes him that people spend a small fortune on power tools, then use the cheapest blades, bits, papers they can get their hands then moan about...
