The Lidl track saw is coming up again in a week or so. For the price it's not a bad tool.

    I've bought a Woodrat

Thanks for that Loz. Just about finished getting it cleaned and set-up. First item on the list is a tool cabinet so that will test a variety of cuts and joints

    I've bought a Woodrat

Ah it was Adel, that a shame they've gone. I think mine is quite an early one as the router and base plate are black rather than white, it's also got a proper wheel style handle. So far I've been taking it apart and cleaning it up ready for use. thanks everybody for your help. Graham

    I've bought a Woodrat

In a moment of madness I bought a second-hand Woodrat off Ebay and I remember there used to be somebody on here who had a website with loads of tips/jigs/guides... Does anybody know what happened, they seem to have disappeared but I remember there was some really useful stuff on their site...

    Customer Loyalty?

All insurers rely on customer loyalty, it's where they make most of their profit. If you've not claimed, they'll have some wiggle room to try and retain your custom, but sometimes not as much as if you were a new customer. With regards to credit checking, most insurers now use this as a...

    Record BS300 Motor question

After doing some light duty veneer cutting today my bandsaw wouldn't start again, just a buzzing sound from the motor. Is it likely to be just the capacitor or as I'm unable to turn the motor over by hand has the motor gone as well? regards Graham

Passing timber diagonally over saw blade to create curve ?

Flipping through a old (very old?) 1950's The Woodworker and it shows this practice for forming coves. I think it shows a fence either side, though I can't remember if it shows a bridge piece, if I get time I'll scan it in.

    is this possible

Yes, Done an upstairs bathroom which was over chipboard. You need to use a proper flexible adhesive and grout though. The adhesive I used was a two parter which mixed with what looked like latex. The grout was a flexible one as well but they also recommended using an additive, which looked...

    AA membership

You should always treat a renewal quote from an insurance company as a starting point. Unless you've hit some "magic" target market they're after, in which case you've already got the best price you will always be able to get something knock off. I had the same issue with the AA, double...

Are you extremely short-sighted and getting on in years?

I'd agree with the above and get it checked out quickly as possible i.e. straight to your local eye hospital. It might not be PVD but you could have a problem with your retinas. I'd a floater but no flashes which I'd ignored for a couple of months, only picked up as I'd needed to get an eye...

New oak table top onto steel frame

Did the same for my kitchen table, though it was rectangular. You might want to watch out that the extra weight doesn't make the table a bit springy depending on the frames construction. On mine the whole table became like an upside down pendulum. In the end I had to replace the base with a...

    Toshiba Laptop charger advice please.

I'm assuming you've done the obvious and checked fuses etc... So the answers are 1, no 2. do you mean generic chargers? Should be ok but check voltages etc... 3. double check - you might be suprised. Have a nose round on amazon as well. I got a genuine HP one from there and it was cheaper...

    Ouch!!

Looks like my next bonus is on hold while we pay this claim. I was a bit surprised that it was Aviva as we normally only go for middle of the road stuff (sorry no pun intended). Aviva do have some specialist brokages which is what this was probably what this was covered under.

    Good money

I did a two year B'Tech national diploma, it covered a just about all aspects of IT from hardware, software and programming. I'd also started doing the Microsoft exams (MCP & MCSA) - buying books and online stuff. I dread to think how many jobs I'd applied for, before even getting an...

    Good money

I used to be in the same boat, three years at the London College of Furniture, left with good qualifications and struggled to find anything that paid even a c**p wage. In my opinion, unless you go self employed you'll struggle, there's no money in furniture. A couple of mates one a...

    Outdoor projects

Made mine out of gravel board, some 2"x2" post and some big screws. Use the post in the corners with the boards just but jointed. Also put some post half way down the boards to make it slightly more rigid. Just had a look at Mike Garnham's planter and want to cut mine up for firewood and...
