Problem fitting new blade to circular saw

Sounds like the arbour bolt is not in contact with the plate of the blade, either the reducing ring is thicker than the plate or the arbour bolt diameter is too small to grip the plate properly beyond the reducing ring. If it's the case that the ring is too thick I'd try a bit of wet and dry...

    Shrinkage

7 mm veneer is too thick for a veneer. It will still want to move at that thickness. You could put a piece of melamine board on the bed of the planer and pass the stock through on that to get it closer to the knives. Put a hook on the melamine or cramp it to the bed and put a bit of wax on it to...

    Hammer A3 spiral cutter block

Those 'shelix' heads are supposed to be awesome. Cleaner cutting, less tear out and quieter in operation. Very popular with American woodworkers. Is that one made by Felder?

BS350 bandsaw - problem with tensioning mechanism

Take a look at a parts drawing on mtmc or powertoolspares, it might give you a better idea. How do you rate that machine?

    Rough sawn timber

No matter how well you sort through the bale you take a chance with defects in rough sawn hardwoods. I've had maple with sticker marks, sapele that all looked the same on the outside but ranged from chocolate to red to salmon pink, oak where one plank is totally different from another, and...

How to trim thin shape with router

If you are still looking for a temporary way to mount a template for router trimming, double sided carpet tape works really well. It's also good for attaching 'stabilisers' to the base of a router. Just clean off the gunk with white spirit when you're done.

    Websites and promoting your business

That is sweet Mr Grumpy. Your images certainly look professional quality. Nice work. I am just a one band, deliberately steering away from kitchens, here in Ireland, the kitchen and contiboard wardrobe market is over saturated, and I don't have space or money to invest to do that kind of work...

    MDF wardrobe

What a difference a lick of paint makes. How did you finish that? Spray/brush/roller? W/B, oil, cellulose?

Good web sites from inspiring makers

Would it be rather rude of me to insert my own website for your perusal? It's new and been a labour of love http://www.customfurnitureandwoodwork.ie If anything's not right, please say so so I can fix it. Onto other makers, I nearly wept the first time I saw http://www.Johnleefurniture.com...

    Websites and promoting your business

I didn't see a forum for Business or Marketing, so please excuse me if I've put this in the wrong place. Just wondered if anyone here has a website and if so, how successful is it for helping your business? I have recently done my own with register365 (you've probably seen their ads on the...

    Pivoting drawer hardware

I have a couple of under bed storage rollers that I could put inverted on the base of the table so the roller could support the drawer. 10mm veneered drwer bottom should do the job. Cheers

    Pivoting drawer hardware

Hello everyone, Just signed up, at this point I have a fairly good idea of what I'm doing, but have a question regarding hardware for a pivoting drawer. An unusual request I know, I would be grateful if anyone who has done this before could give me some guidance. Are knife hinges the way to...
