Hi guys, Can you help me with a price check for a wardrobe as drawings? Face frame, moldings and drawers made from poplar, carcase bb ply, raised door panels mdf. Back mdf. Drawer runners full extension BB side mounted. Job will be painted and fitted. Just looking for a ball park figure...

    Website

I recently did mine with register365.com. Easy peasy layout tools that you use from within your browser and it only cost €73 (£60?) for the year, including the sitemaker (design) software and hosting. Customer service is good too. this is what I did www.customfurnitureandwoodwork.ie

    Axminster A star service

I guess it depends who you speak to. I had a mitre saw stand delivered to me that wasn't the one advertised on their website, when I phoned up to enquire about getting the right one, I was spoken to like I was an ***** who didn't know how to order things online. Time of the month methinks.

    Ain't this the truth !

A guy is sitting on a bench in the park eating his sandwiches. Looks over at two workmen with shovels and wheelbarrow, one digs a hole then the other one comes along and fills the hole back in. Slightly bemused, the guy on the bench finishes his lunch and gets ready to go back to work. As he's...

How fitter supply/fit custom wardrobe for cost of materials

Some 'craftsmen' over here charge a different rate depending on whether a client has electric gates or not. I know clients who have parked their X5's down the road prior to the builder coming too.

    Under stairs storage. Suggestions please.

I would approach this by dividing up the spaces with some sheet material, pull out wheels (not swivelling casters) on the bottom of your pull out sections and guide rails like a wooden drawer slide to guide the pull out sections when they come out. Maybe stop the pull out parts 200mm short of...

How fitter supply/fit custom wardrobe for cost of materials

That is cheap, must have made his money by making the carcases. Here in Ireland, a flat pack double wardrobe carcase would cost around €290. Two sheets of 18mm melamine chip, set of feet, bit of rail, some screws and a wall board would set you back €90 - so for each carcase he'd make €200.

    Metabo planer thicknesser (Snipe)

I have a HC260C (thicknesser bed height adjuster on top) and if I had your problem, this is what I'd do. First, wind the infeed table up to the zero mark. Get a straight edge and place across the infeed and outfeed tables to make sure they are lined up, check at each side of the cutter block, if...

Water resistant MDF or Ply for kitchen cabinets...?

I personally wouldn't consider a painted interior. The finish just won't hold up. Plus, it's such a lot of work to do on all those cabinets - whether you spray or do them with a brush/ roller. Mfc is tricky to work without a panel saw equipped with a scoring blade, the edges chip easily. A...

Safest way to rip boards in half?

I don't think there's any real issue with the rip and flip method. I have done loads of these cuts with the riving knife set below the top of the blade. Never had any binding or kickback. Push lightly and straight and don't really jam it into the fence especially for the last 6 inches to part...

    VW Transporter T5 lwb

I need to replace my T4 with a newer van so I'm leaning towards a T5, the only thing is I've heard a lot of stories about the gearbox, clutch and dual mass flywheel going at around 100k. Any of you guys driving T5's? Any problems? What's a good alternative other than a Hiace?

    Table saw

Another vote for a tracksaw on sheet goods, especially if you're in a confined space. If you have the room to push a sheet through a saw, roller stands are useful for support, the ones with four independent balls won't drift your sheet out like a flat roller.

Advice on small shop vac please ?

Features I would look for are low noise, take off socket and at least 10' of hose. My own experience has been cheaper canister vacs with just a pleated filter will clog up quickly and lose suction, whereas a paper bag will give better suction for much longer. But of course be prepared to empty...
