I've got a QS number 7 from WSH and it's a joy to use. There was a slight problem with the first one sent out and they arranged a courier next day to deliver a new one and pick up the old one. Spot on on all regards (including price).

I have struggled with stock the last two times I've been in to store. They've posted out two star knobs to me today which cost less than a pound each...that must have cost them money. I hope they get this sorted soon before the goodwill they've built up is eroded.

With regards the brackets, you could easily make wooden guides with slots morticed to match your wooden battens that will slide out. Then screw the guides in place (2 per batten) and Robert's your mother's brother.

Legs would work, but that's not what I meant. Battens that slide out from under the benchtop, supporting the shelf when needed, then slide back under when you want to fold the shelf down again.
