Fitting two NEFF ovens in ply carcass - advise me please

If it helps, this is the look I'm going for with the oven & drawer front set back so they finish flush with the ply side of the carcass; and the width of the drawer front will be the same as the oven. The Neff Z11SZ90X0 trim kit has a metal shelf to put between the two ovens so presumably the...

Fitting two NEFF ovens in ply carcass - advise me please

Hello, I've almost built all of my carcasses out of pre-lacquered birch ply. Now I need to build the tall unit for the two NEFF ovens; a standard sized single and a 45cm compact microwave combination oven using the Neff Z11SZ90X0 trim kit. There will be two Blum Antaro drawers beneath the...

Fixing base units to aircrete wall with dot and dab?

After a bit more research I've decided to try the Dryline Pro and space plugs. The dryline has the advantage of using standard 5mm screws but for really heavy stuff i'll probably stick with the big Rigifix,

Fixing base units to aircrete wall with dot and dab?

Or should i just drill through the back of the units and into the aircrete and use a fischer plug like this and then a space plug for the 35-40mm gap? It's not like there will be any force trying to pull them out; and they'll have granite tops on them. http://www.tooled-up.com/product/fische...

Fixing base units to aircrete wall with dot and dab?

Any advice on doing this? I was planning on using space plugs to fix my birch ply base units. The wall is aircrete block with about an inch of dab/cavity then plasterboard. The back of the cabinet will be about 35-40mm from the wall. I've used Rigifix before when fixing units dirctly to the...

Blum Antaro drawers; is 15mm okay for back/base material?

Hello, I'm planning on getting some Blum Antaro drawer boxes from M&D and getting the bases cut by my local Avon Plywood. I've never done a Blum drawer before. When I look at the companies that sell them with pre-cut MFC bases, they list them as 16mm thick. Avon Plywood has ply and MFC in...

First kitchen build and I have a few questions!

As my cabinet backs are flush, if i used space plugs there would be a gap of 50mm or so between the cabinet back and the wall. Is this ok in terms of fitting the granite/silestone worktop? Shouldn't it have a batten or protruding sides to rest on/support it. This is what the cabinet backs look...

    Sorry...another kitchen build. 99% finished.

    Thanks James!

    Sorry...another kitchen build. 99% finished.

James, in this photo, is the plinth foot just on the base panel or is it positioned up to the edge of the vertical side panel? Hope that makes sense, I'm just wondering if the side panel needs supporting by the foot? I guess in this case the face frame supports it as well but I'm doing a kitchen...

First kitchen build and I have a few questions!

Hello, again. I've started building the carcasses this week. I did one for the workshop as a practice run to sort out any potential problems and get a better idea of the order or working. So far it's going really well and I'm loving the combination of the Domino 500 and the Kreg K5. I have...

Remedy for vac hose ridges getting snagged? Anyone???

Hi Jack, I don't suppose you can remember which size for which size hose and what length you needed? Thanks Dave

    Sorry...another kitchen build. 99% finished.

Great job James, really top notch! Can I ask where you got the pre-lacquered maple from for the boxes? I'm trying to decide between doing that or using Blum Tandembox. Still need to find a reasonable price on Blum drawers. Oh, and thanks for the heads up about the lacquered birch ply at Avon...

Blum drawer boxes - Who has the best prices?

Hello, I'm getting my birch ply carcasses built at the moment and was wondering if anyone can recommend a place with good prices on Blum drawer boxes? Thanks Dave

Is white Ash a nightmare to work with?

I'm sorry but that just isn't true. You can, and I do, do it all with bottom bearing bits. You can do the first 1/3rd to a half of the depth with the template on, then route pickup cavities etc and all the other things you need the template for. Then simply remove the template, and use the body...

Is white Ash a nightmare to work with?

When routing guitar bodies you need to change direction so that you're going 'downhill'. This drawing form the TDPRI explains it. And I'm sure you're already doing this but don't try and take the full depth at once, do it in at least 3 stages.

Looks great, really neat work. The blue looks really good too. Thanks for posting the completed photos. Dave

Anyone made a shelf hole drilling jig to use a router?

I'd like to make a shelf hole drilling jig. I was going to just do one with 5mm holes for a drill but thought it would be better to do bigger holes and use a bushing with my Festool OF1400 Router. Has anyone done one that they could share ideas or photos of? Cheers Dave

Blum drawer fronts, how do i locate the holes??

So I'm about to start my first proper kitchen build with pre-lacquered birch ply. I've just ordered some Blum templates - the one for drilling four drawer slides at once, the ecodrilll unit for hinges and the hinge marking one. I found them on the Blum UK Kit shop much cheaper than Axminster...

Which router for table with above table adjust/bit change?

Thanks for all the additional input. It's the standard Jessem rout-r table without a lift. I've just picked up the festool which looks great. Then went to Screwfix but they don't stock the triton in store, just on line.

Which router for table with above table adjust/bit change?

Thanks mate. I'm considering the Festool OF1400 for all the handheld use because of the excellent dust extraction. So, sounds like the Triton TRA001 is the way to go if it can offer good height adjustment and bit change from above the table. Thanks chaps. Dave
